I may have a line on a clean 91 or 92 Honda XR250L dual-sport. I have not seen
the bike yet. Does anyone have the spec's for this bike ? I am most interested
in weight, seat height, transmission type. Are these bikes decent? Any info or
opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

In article <19990730180915...@ng-fd1.aol.com>,

Just got rid of my 96 250L.(got a 650L)
Honda service manual says seat hight 34.8". dry weight 260. curb weight
291 6spd trany. It was a good bike for me to relearn how to ride. It
got about 65-70 mpg stock, little less after rejet. Dependable too.

I bought a 91 new and thought it was a good bike. It is basically an XR250
with lights. Differences are....a steel fuel tank, no oil cooler, exhaust,
carb, tires, gearing, battery and wiring. I sold it after finding an NX250
(a much better street bike) and realizing that the value of the very clean
XR would be squat if I used it for woods riding. Then got a dedicated woods
bike to trash.
If you want one bike that can do it all and favors off road use, you will
be happy with the XR.
