Here goes the questions:
1) what have others in RMD had done by Eric and how do you like the
mods?
2) have the mods made your bike more 'touchy' or unreliable?
3) was it hard to get the jetting dialed in?
4) unless you are going to have bottom end work done, you just sent him
the cylinder and possibly carb, right? (I did see his price list)
5) does he do the work himself or does he have employees do it (and if
so, does he check it over after or is everyone that works there good)?
Thanks, Peter

Just sent my YZ125 motor to Eric for a 150 big-bore conversion + porting
+ head work. When I get it back, I'll post all the details.

Sent complete motor. No carb.

js 98 RM 250 gorr-ized
00 xr50
00 ACL in for repair this coming wed.
I have a pal who had Eric do his CR250. His only comment was 'He really
knows his stuff'. The bike is a rocket and will do roll-ons dead even
with the big bores. I've never heard anyone complain about Eric's work
and I can't think of a better place for uniform quality and good prices.
Not to make any mistakes here, I do most of the things Eric does but am
not specifically a two stroke tuner, so recommending him isn't a conflict
for me.

Eric Gorr ported my 2000 CR250 about 3 week ago.
Had him port it as what he calls Better Everywhere.
The bike now has what I would consider both a smoother and stronger
powerband that pulls long and hard. The bike is easy to ride and lots
of power when I open it up. The bike is a rocket.
My jetting did not change much.
It was so easy. Just pulled off the cylinder, put it in a box, and
sent it off with the reed cage, power valve, and head attached. Did
not even clean anything or take the power valve apart because he likes
to see the burn patterns. He evaluated the components, cleaned
everything, did the work, put the powervalve back together, and got it
to me by Friday.
Also, included my old piston and plug for evaluation at the same time.
Eric evaluated the items and wrote me back information about what he
saw about my previous wear (piston and rings), jetting, pre-mix, and
temperature. If the piston is in good shape, he sends it back for you
to use as a spare. This was for free.
I am very happy with the work and would do it again without hesitation.
Cannot go wrong with Professional job, quality information, quick turn,
and only $120.

Before you buy.
Kim and I both have had Eric do work on our bikes. My RM250 (98...like
yours) recieved the Mo Better Everywhere treatment. Ran strong, but
just as I was getting the jetting dialed (it was rich to begin
with..porting and reeds just made it richer) the tranny took a dump on
me and I havn't rode it since. My initial impression was it was very
good, much stronger than stock, with very little loss off the bottom (I
also went down 2 teeth on the rear sprocket) and still smooth to ride.
It was probably the best $120 I could have spent on it. he told me not
to change the stock pipe, as it was good as was te silencer. That is
what I like about Rich Rohrich and Eric Gorr. They don't try to sell
you a bunch of crap you don't need.
Kim had some minor cylinder and head work done to her 80 to smooth it
out a bit and give it a touch more bottom end. She loves it, and, it
only ended up costing $40 for that work.
Neither bike has had an issue with reliability or any other problem
(hard starting, etc., etc) related to Eric's work. The RM's problem
is...well..it's an RM. :-)
You can't go wrong with Eric's work, IMO. Price and performance speak
for themselves.

Eric did the porting and carb work on my 91 RM250, back in 1992. I sent
him the cylinder, head and carb. I love what these mods did to the
bike, except for the first time I rode it. I mean, I loved them right
away, but the new snap in the motor almost spit me off. <G>
None of the mods made the bike more touchy or unreliable. I did have a
bit of a problem getting the jetting dialed in, but I'm not the world's
greatest at that to begin with. That's why I have mechanic friends!
<G> Also, a quick call to Mr. Gore and I was spot on!
I know that he did my porting himself, when he was associated with Tuf.
Racing. I know this because I got a call from him asking about what I
was looking for in the porting!
I'm extremely happy with the work and he will get the work on my next
bike, when I manage to figure out where I am and where I'm gonna be for
the next year or two.
