Mike Baxter
I'm putting together a little warm up ride on July 17th. Should be
good training for ISF.
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558276
For those that don't want to wade thru the entire thread, this is my
annual dual sport ride where we link together all of the best single
track in Northern Colorado. To prevent someone from cheating with a
light trail bike, there are periodic sections of 65mph highway tossed
in. Last year we started at 4am Saturday, and finished at 1am on
Sunday. 280 miles, of which there was over 100 miles of TST.
I've been riding my bicycle around town a lot, trying to watch what I
eat, and get in as much trail riding as I can without shirking other
responsibilities before the big trip. Am sooooo looking forward to
IDSF!!!

Annual? How do you get an invite to this? Somebody have
to kiss some ass?
I prostrate myself with lips pursed. 2011 plans for Morocco might
just have to wait.
Go fast. Take chances.

Wide open invite on ADV. To make something of this size and length
possible requires sub-teams of closely matched capabilities and a
group size no more than 5 or 6 riders. Mike, you have a standing
invite to be on my team.
Here's the link to last year's report:

This year will be the 5th MOAR.
No T-shirts, no prizes. Just brutal amounts of technical dual sport
riding that will test the limits of man/woman & machine.
This year there will be a ladies MOAR contingent (FOAR). We will meet
up for lunch & dinner to swap stories. The goal of the FOAR is to
have a slightly abbreviated course that will allow ample time to
repair broken nails & fix helmet hair ;-) <ducking>

Well then, there's my problem. No ADV presence.

Alrighty. Sounds like I've got way too much scheduled for
June/July 2011. If they were at least on the same side of the globe,
I'd try to do them all

I'd just like to watch that. Maybe I could bring my pedicure
kit.
Off to MX the WR this weekend, pre-spodefest testing.

I'm doing a 2-day pre-ECMAS(ly)F ride myself this weekend at Highland Park
and got a call yesterday afternoon that your buddy Henry Gregorich will be
there as well!
KW
I'm torn between riding one more time before Stimilon (training) and
final preparation of the bike. Big heat wave rolling in tomorrow.
Maybe if I go early I can get a quick workout before it gets
ridiculous.
I have all my black plastic (except shrouds). I bought UFO plastic and
I have determined that UFO makes the GasGas factory plastic. Not sure
how I'm going to work out this left number plate with the airbox door
- conflicting strategies will do battle today based on empirical
fumbling.
The shrouds will either get black pressure sensitive signmaking vinyl,
or black Krylon Fusion Paint - both in stock here.
Last year I was really late on bike prep and that was not helpful.
Maybe I'll bleed my clutch for the first time ever...
Not everyone. I am, of course, in the 135 F heat range daily. Does
that count?

Ridiculous? see above statement. :D

Bike prep: Hey Scrape, will you go get those bikes for me, keep them
prepped, and bring them to me when I finally get home? Bike prep is
really kicking my ass.
I am sure that just sealed my fate and I will be riding a bike with
pink plastic now. It's OK. Pink is the other black.
Spodely
SloCalSpode, Jeff
BTW, If you are bringing a GasGas. I have a couple of
boxes full of slightly used plastics. Maybe I should bring
some spares........

After teasing one of the ladies for complaining about a broken nail on
our first Donner Ride, she showed up at Chickfest with
"Indestructable" KTM orange nail polish. Fingers & toes. Pretty hot.

Say howdy to Henry for me. He's a good guy, don't let him tell you
otherwise.
And for SloCalSpode'sedification, the above mentioned ECMAS(ly)F
ride is in North Carolina. Spodely will be home for a few days so
seemed a good excuse for an east coast ride.

What he said. I don't have enough time while I'm home to get out to
Idaho and ride. I'm bummed about it. If I cancelled meeting the
family and spending time with the kids at the beach, I have the time.
I'm already squeezing it pretty tight by doing two days in NC. When I
suggested I may try to do Friday, three females threatened to do me
bodily harm. Ya'll know how bad that could be.
Spodely
I did it. However, it was due to a bike problem. Somehow, my top
shock bolt came loose and worked it's way out. Ugh. I have not
removed the shock in over a year. I should have taken the old bike as
well, but didn't.

It counts for something!

OK, your point is well-taken. I'm going to go ride early tomorrow. I
topped off my rear brake, changed my air filter and changed my gearbox
oil.
I retract my earlier statement about UFO making the GG plastic.
Extreme Makeover GasGas Edition starts tomorrow night.

Nah. Just to make it more like what you're used to, I'm removing all
chains, sprockets and anything to do with brakes.

Buy them each a few bucks worth of chocolate. Problem solved and
you're welcome.

I have to agree. (Hot!)
I may like Orange after all.
I have been "under the weather" for a couple of weeks, so my pre-Spodely
Fest conditioning has been to sit on the couch and play CoD Modern Warefare
2.
I'll be back out in the woods tomorrow, pulling arrows.
(I spent the day yesterday, chasing a CRF 70 mounted 10 year old and a CRF50
mounted 4 year old, around a 1.2 acre lot at my daughter's house near LR. It
was a blast, except for the 4 year old cutting the course. Some kids are
born hare scramblers. Their mom just called me to say that the yellow
meated water melon was fantastic, and that the 4 year old cried this morning
when they made her get off the CRF50 to come in and eat breakfast.)
Deb and I will be there at BMMP (and at Idaho). RahRah is traveling with
us. (supposedly to both places.) (MXPhlipper is starting to crawfish on
Idaho. I'm going to have to work on that.)
Good Riding to All Ya'll on this, America's Birthday!

OK, so I'm trying to make heads or tails of ADV rider for
a few not-so-spare minutes this morning. Not only is the
interface el sucko but it's slower than heck. How can
anybody stand it?
Don't know what adv site you are referring to, but I like the
interface on ADV and it's plenty fast.
It is customizable, I think.

???
Plenty fast for me on a 5 year old laptop. There must be something in
your connection slowing things down.
The interface is OK, takes a little time to figure out things though.
Try holding your pointer over various places to get a little help
window. That's how I discovered the teeny little down arrow next to the
thread title will get you to the unread posts...a seemingly important
feature.

Just another forum I don't have time for.......until I pick up my next
bike. Tracy REALLY enjoyed the 2-up sliding around on the dirt roads.
I got the OK to sell her scooter to help pay for it and make room in
the garage.

Should I send you John Aiton's phone number?

Hell No. I gotta have $$$ first. Plus, I can get to John via FB.

It's a thought, anyway. We would like to see ya'll again, soon.
Good Riding!

A. Tell RahRah I said "Hey". Good guy and a pleasure to ride with.
2. I thought there was emotional attachment to those?
