Awesome racing! I was there two years ago and McGrath ran away with it.
His switch to Suzuki seemed to be a big equalizer, but that may change as
he gets to know his bike. How many years did he ride that '93 CR?
How about Lance Smail? He came extremely close to qualifying for the
main, definitely a crowd pleaser. He actually lead the semi and the last
chance qualifiers for quite some time.
The KTM Challenge! Looked like a lot of fun to me. I think that the
crowd was yelling louder for the kids than the big boys.

Dislikes:
The first lady of supercross. How did she get that title anyway. I
thought that she was pretty irritating.
WWF announcing. It will probably never change.
Muted interviews. I guess they were exclusively for ESPN.
Unfortunately, I don't have cable. I don't think my cable system carries
ESPN2 anyway.
Fireworks during the Star Spangled Banner. I don't need special effects
to be patriotic.
All of the pits were outside the King Dome this year. You have to get a
pit pass to see them. I don't know how much they cost, but if I would
have gotten there earlier, I would have bought one.

I still had a great time. Its going to be an interesting SX season.

The pit passes were free. I got mine at Al's Auto Supply. Al's was the
sponsor if you remember. I did have to call several stores before I found one
that still had pit passes. Each store got 100 passes and by Saturday morning
most of them were given out. I got the last four at the store I went to.

You could get the pit passes free at Tower records. They were also
available from local Yamaha and Honda dealers, though I don't know if they
were free. I called Tower records at 5:00 pm on Saturday and they still had
a big box full. Didn't do much good though, as they closed the pits at
5:30. It would have been a lot better if pit passes were available at the
ticket outlets.

"First Lady" is Leeann Tweeden.
When you are the promoter I guess you get to name the announcers whatever
you want!
I met her after the races, I think she is good for SX because she doesn't
scream and shout.

Agree or disagree:
-Supercross attendees are Moto people who come to see the best race, and
would rather hear more rider comments and less....."Give it UPPPP for the
BEEEAASSTTT...bla bla bla"

I'm not sure how she did as a commentator, but she is not a fake. She
knows motocross and she is a very decent lady. She was part of the MX
scene here in Colorado for a couple of years. She rides, and she seems
to love the sport. I think her involvement is very positive.
(PS: She was on the cover of Playboy, but I heard she refused a lot of
money to do a nude layout!)
