FOR SALE: 1990 YZ 250

* new tires front and rear
* new Acerbis o-ring chain
* alumalite bar
* new Boyesen racing reeds
* all new fork seals
* street legal - has headlight, tail light, and license plate already
on it. License is paid through March '94
* wide ratio 5-speed, top end is 85-90 mph
* recently tuned, runs great

I'm selling the bike because when I bought it in the spring I lived on a farm,
but in the fall I moved into town and have no place to ride or store it. I have
a brand new Bieffe 3-sport helmet with sheild and visor (interchangeable) that
will go with the bike also (value $140). Book value as told to me by a local
Yamaha dealer is around $2350 or so.

I've never raced the bike (I wouldn't have the guts to). It was strictly bought
as a "toy". It has plenty of power - I'm around 195 lbs. and it has no
problems pulling the front tire off in any of the gears!! The street legal
part adds a little flair to this machine - you won't find another one like it
without a great deal of searching. The color scheme is white with a blue seat,
and blue anodized upside down front forks.

I'm asking $2000, but seriously need some cash, so I'll gladly consider any
reasonable offers.

Please respond via e-mail, or call me at (507) 386-0747 ask for Curt or leave
a message. The bike is currently located in the Mankato, MN area.

Once again.... How in the hell did you manage a street legal YZ250?
What state did you get in legalized in? What'd it cost?

From my experience (street legalizing a Husky 510), and at least in CA,
it does not make any difference for the DMV if you bike is a 2 or 4
stroke. The issue might come up later when you get checked by your
local CHP or other law enforcement orifice... They might question the
legality of 2 strokes (and plastic tanks and lots of non DOT approved
stuff on your bike)...

Happy trails,

Denis.
