You know, an E-Mail list?! An e-mail list is an address that you send
mail to which is fed into a Listserver program. The Listserver then re-sends
the mail to all of those who have subscribed to that list. When you reply to a
message sent to the list, all the other members of the list get your message
also. Of course, you can reply by way of private e-mail too, but that Isn't
what the list is about. The list is about Sharing Information with a group of
persons that have the same interests or similar interests to you - ATV's!
Think of rec.motorcycles.dirt as a *TYPE* of e-mail list. You send
something to the newsgroup which is posted for all to see. You can read it,
ignore it, respond to it....whatever!
The ATV list would work similar to that, with the exception that the
messages would show up in your E-Mail box throughout the day, instead of you
having to start a Newsreader and looking for the messages. It would be more
specific than rec.motorcycles.dirt in that it would be About ATV's, For ATV'ers
and By ATV'ers!
SO, how about it? Is there any interest now???? If there is what I deem
to be sufficient interest, I'll get serious about setting one up. For now, I'm
just testing the waters, hoping to find solid ground......
I believe that Bill @ 3&4 Wheel action has some sort of ATV
Mailing list you can subscribe to. His address is WB...@AOL.COM

What you're refering to, Trish, is a list (still being compiled) of online
ATVers, grouped by city and state, for publication in 3&4 Wheel Action
sometime before 1999 <g>.
The ATV mailing list Eric Happy <eha...@mailhost.ptpd.ford.com> proposes
is different. The subscribers to the list send mail to a special e-mail
address and everyone on the list receives the mail. It's like a bulletin
board or newsgroup but the all messages come directly to you.
Do it, Eric!
Hey Trish, tell your hubby (Mike Krachun) to overall a few XCs this year!
