Cosmopolitan Motors in PA were importers prior to C&G.
http://www.cosmotor.com/ and may have info/parts for older bikes. You might
also post this on the Trials Action BB, there's a fair amount of collective
knowledge there http://www.trials.co.uk/index.shtml , go to interactive,
then to bulletin board. Or subscribe to the trials list and post it there.
There's a thread already running about trials messageboards, should give you
the info to access the trials list. The trials list is a great resource for
this kind of stuff.
I can also tell you that on my 00 GasGas, the front rotor is intentionally
loose, called a floating disk as a way to prevent binding the rotor in the
calipers should the front end get *tweaked* and that most all trials bikes
these days come stock with D'ell Orto's though I think the Betas now come
with Mikuni's.

Dunno about that, I think the Gara used the same floating disc
as the Zero. But its hard to sell from a newsgroup posting
if that's the issue here.

The Zero motor is a 260. The 270 kits are for the newer Techno motors.
Beta did use some Del Orto carbs in the mid 90s, notably on the
94 and 95 Technos.

Yeah, and there's a reason they stopped using them... ;0
Jeff posted the two best links. Ron Como and Mike Comer should be able
to help. Bob Ginder at B&J Racing might also be able to help
(http://www.bjracing.com/)
I'd call Mike first, then Bob. They're more vintage-oriented than Ron...
Here's a link to an all beta page that has some links and history:

In deed, the Gara was the last year Zero with the most significant
difference being the 36mm USD Paolis instead of the 35s, just like 94-95
Technos. 96 was the first year again for Right Side UP.
The brake is the same on all Zeros.

The 57.5 mm stroke gives 240cc for the 73mm piston, 260 for the 76mm piston,
268.5 for the 77mm piston (piston/cylinder).
The Techno has 60mm stroke, 72.5mm = 249cc 76mm = 272cc
But why would a cylinder be stamped 269A? 270 models were sold in the late
80s and used the same cases and cylinder design. Could this be a factory
kit? Only way to know would be to take the head or cylinder off and measure
with precision.

So a DellOrto carb on a 93 means it is either late 93 or a modification?
Can't find that out myself.
