And was it the extra riding since last month that made it worth the
extra $200 over what you listed it for in June, or have you added more
race equipment??? ;)
BTW, I have a '97 KX250($5500) which has an FMF Pipe ($200), Silencer($100),
MSR Shift Lever($25), New Graphics($70), Odometer ($100), Full tank of gas($5)
and Fresh gear oil($5) that I'll let you have if you call me in the next 20
minutes for only $6005, but act fast because it won't be around here long at
these prices! :-g
Just curious, opinionated, and of course, sarcastic!

Hey anyone know how hard a guy like say oh I don't know.... Malcolm Smith could
ride?

I'm an appraiser by trade and can tell you that cost has little to do with
value
And clean up the language after you go clean your room!

> dumb enough to ride a
97' XR400
My uncle Jack in Arizona is 55. He rides the piss outta his bikes, daily.
They are friggin T-I-R-E-D when he sells them. Oh, don't get me wrong, he
maintains them and they look good. This year he sold his 97 CR250 for $3500.
Put same BS in his ad too "rode by 55 year old man". He said the first guy
to show up bought it. He didn't even want to start it!! Uncle Jack doesn't
lie about his bikes, he'll tell someone he rode the thing to death, but they
think, "how can this old grey-haired fart ride the hell outta something?"
Running ads like this for the last 10 years, he said the longest it ever took
him to sell a bike was 2 days.
my mistake...my dad told me
> 5,200 but I forgot that part...oops! And it has only ONE ride on it this year

it in 1997 and paid 8,500 for
The price reflect jack squat. Hey buddy, my 88 KX is for sale for only
$75,000. As you can tell by the price, it is no ordinary bike.....
> it because we knew how great a deal it was. I can see why you didn't realize

Well, guess RC and Emig are pretty dumb too, eh?
> think? I think you are jealos that we have this jewel of a bike and you
> don't....he he he. Later!!!
If the bike is such a "jewel", why don't you race it/buy it from your dad?
Are you saying your YZ is a better bike? Why not dump the YZ and get the
Honda if this is such a killer ride? Don't take this as a flame (well, you
can if you want), but most here can see through the smoke and mirrors. If
the bike was so good, you'd be riding it and we'd be reading an ad for a 97
YZ. Here is my guess: the fact of the matter is you guys bought a bike that
is too much for either of you. You paid way too much, and now your dad (or
you, or whoever) will never see that cash again, so now you're trying to cut
your loses and dump it. Only problem is, most folk who are gonna dump 5.2
G's on a bike will not buy a used bike, espically a 96. The other problem is
that unless you are as fast and ride as hard as Mike Brown, the bike will
never fit you. It was set up for Mike Brown to ride like only Mike does. Am

88 KX250 #837 (for sale....$75,000)
96 XR100
Forget it Racer !
people do not value any changes from stock, i can tell you from
selling by own bikes !
they'll go like this:
"applied hyper triple clamps, oh well, but will stock stuff still fit
when the upper or lower hyper clamp breaks ?
so i have to buy rotors from braking 'cause the honda ones won't fit
anymore ?
etc. etc."
they will back off as soon as they see aftermarket seat covers (i
sadly did experience that)
and you can't add up sprockets/chain/plastics/air-filter yust because
you swapped the honda ones !
i would deduct worn tires/plastics/chain/sprockets from your asking so
they better be brand new !
and never ever mention a 'rewelded'-something, they'll think you had
broken the part !
so your list boils down to the honda works fork, the rest is a well
maintained, perhaps a bit over-customized CR125 (hey, is there any
part in place, that says 'HONDA' on it ?)
if the fork is top (i assume, i easily can dial/revalve works forks to
'worse-than-stock' and i do mean honda-cr-stock, which really is bad)
AND the customer does value it, you've got a chance asking 5 grand.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with selling bikes...we havn't had that kind
of luck. In fact, we have the bike at a dealer right now and they've had TONS
of racers eyes bug out at the list of acessories and they want the bike...just
have other bikes at the moment and can't afford spending that kinda money
without selling their's first...and the dealer only does consignments so they
are SOL with our bike. One guy is checking with his bank to get the bike
(dealer denied his credit) so we don't have that bad a price on it...plus we
paid 8,500 for it in 1997. And yes the tires, plastic, chains, sprockets are
BRAND NEW. (actually, it does say HONDA on the clutch cover...I think thats
about it though)

Well These must be magic tires, I just bought the exact same set of tires and they
cost me 60 bucks for the rear and 49 for the front. And there were delivered to my
door and had nipples on them (hmmmmm... nipples). So If I can assume that this
outlandish markup spreads that would mean your prices are approximately 70% of what
they should be. Thus making your 16,225.62 figure approximately 11,456.30 (I have
no idea why you are reporting these prices to the cent? we don't even use such
precision in real life let alone make believe) And for the one you are all waiting
for 5,200 = 3,671.52. So ask that around and see if you can get someone besides an
in debt / bankrupt MX'er trying to mortgage his trailer to buy your bike.
