Greetings all,
I am an avid dirtbiker, typically ride with one friend. In the
St. Louis area there is no legal area to ride, so people to ride with are
few and far between. The areas designated legal in the state are St. Joes
State Park, and Finger Lake State Park. St. Joe's is located near
Farmington, on Hwy 67, about 80 miles from St. Louis. Finger Lake is
located near Columbia, MO. I am writing to see if anyone would be
interested in riding at either location, have some fun, talk dirtbikes,
etc. I haven't been to Finger Lake yet, but likely will be going this
weekend. St. Joes is mostly hard packed sand, and it's just not the same
as real dirt.

My friend and I aren't pro's, but then we're not exactly beginners either.
We run a good pace without killing ourselves or eachother, and have a good
time (albeit I feel like I got run over by a train today, that sand isn't
as soft as it looks). My ride is a 1982 CR250R, my friend is on a 1984(?)
YZ250.

Responses should be made here, or you can unscramble my email (rot13) and
reach me directly.

Hey Josh
I live just a couple of miles south of columbia and finger lakes is my local
area. One tip dude. If it rains stay away. The park has several artesian
wells. that seemingly innocent looking mudhole maybe ten feet across may be
unpassable.
The park has a motocross track and about a thousand acres of riding area. its
much smaller than flat river but you can still find some neat trails. They
have a user fee of $2 per rider. When you enter the park go to the "ORV
staging area" there are loading ramps there like flat river. if that parking
lot is too muddy go to the MX track parking lot.
Feel free to give me a call for the weather/ground report.
