I am trying to compile a list of dirt riding clubs and organizations
nationwide. This list will be a great boon to anyone moving to a new
area or who doesn't know of them. Please email descriptive and contact
information to me at jmo...@eng.tridom.com If you would like a copy of
this list and any future updates just send me an email asking for the
club list. I will try to post the list and this request periodically
to this rec.moto.dirt.
Here is the current list of dirt oriented MC clubs, it has grown
quickly, but still has a long way to go! I have not yet standardized
the format, I am just collecting the data and getting it out as quicky
as possible at the moment. At present I have at least 50 additional
clubs to list, but typing them in takes time... I think I will have to
break this up by region soon...
Clubs listed by name only are known by me to exist, but I have as
yet to get full data on. Any help is appreciated.

Description:
GARTRA is a GA area club which operates mostly out of Atlanta. They
sponser a great number of just-for-fun dual-sport rides and infomally
do plain dirt riding as well. I believe they have at least 200
members at this point, but that is a guess. GARTRA was primarily
responsible for the Wissenhant area being reopened for this year via
volunteer work for the park rangers.

We run a SX/MX track on the VA/NC border, completely club supported and
non-profit. Great facilities, camping, excellent course. We run practices
the first Sunday of every month, race schedule below.

Description:
This is a rather large club that sanctions all the enduros here in
the NE. They issue you the card and all the other related stuff.
Then there are also a whole bunch of smaller local clubs for each
area. In MA there are a whole bunch. They usually have between 20
and 50 members. The list and their address can be obtained from
NETRA.

It sounds like you would be interested in Enduros. If that is the case
then you are in a prime location for participating in the ECEA, (East
Coast Enduro Association), which has 9 events in NJ, as well as 5 in
PA, and one each in MD and DE.
For $25-30, you get 60-100 miles of trail.

This club is famous for putting up a two day long event in June. It
used to be called the Jack Noga and now is the NH Classic. The club
has over 100 members and is very active in preventing trail closures,
legal issues, making new trails, organizing events, etc. A few of
the members also were at the ISDE in Tulsa and helped those guys
out there. I can highly recomend becoming a member of this club.

- The WNYSC is claimed to have "...the best series of local tracks in the

TIMEKEEPERS is a motorcycle club made up of mainly off road riders that are
interested in competing in District 36 enduros. The club has been in existance
since 1984 and has put on the following events:

- 1985 Wild Boar Enduro
- 1986 Wild Boar National Enduro
- 1988 Prime Time Hare Scrambles
- 1989 Prime Time Hare Scrambles
- 1990 Prime Time Hare Scrambles

- 1995 Wild Boar Family Enduro
The 1995 Wild Boar Family Enduro will be held at Hollister Hills ORV Park in
Hollister, Ca. on March 12th. The club is raffling off a 1995 KX 100 motorcycle
at the event. Tickets are on sale at Zoom Cycles in Santa Clara, or can be
purchased through the club for a cost of $2.
The club meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at "Never Never Land" (a Girl
Scout club house) behind Los Gatos High School. Time is 6:30pm. New members are
always welcome. There are no dues; we just ask members to work our event and
attend monthly meetings.
This year at the District 36 awards banquet, 14 club members were recognized for
their efforts during the 1994 enduro season.
