O.K., we didn't do anything drastic, I didn't want to get Gomer mad...
The kids did most of the decorating.

We added some red streemers to the bars, an air bag to the crossbar
(looked cool, said 'Air bag equipted', but deflated before Gomer saw it),
added a head light (flashlight taped to the fender), filled his horn with
baby powder, KTM Racing stickers on the front fender and both sides of the
tank, big pink flowers on the front of the bike (you know, funny thing,
they were full and big when we put them on and the shrunk down and died
real fast... That Yamer sucked the life right out of those flowers), and
a first aid kit on the rear fender! The first aid kit had a big red cross
on it and had a pair of underwear in a clear plastic bag. <LOL> The bike
looked cool! The boys helped decorate and they added my old metalic blue,
iron jaw helmet with the old JT Racing/Yamaha stickers to the bike. They
had a ball!

Gomer took it all in stride. He laughed and I think he enjoyed it.
Saturday morning we rode on our "practice track" in the back yard and when
Gomer hit the whoops he lost the flowers and first aid kit... When I got
to the whoops and saw it laying on the ground, I pointed back laughing...
Not paying attention to what I was doing, I dumped it in the turn... I
laughed so hard I couldn't hardly get up.

Gomer, the kids and I, we rode for a few hours before we headed to Dirt
Country to race. It was HOT! and very humid. I was sweating my a__ off!
I hadn't rode in probably 2 to 3 months and was seriously out of shape,
but I was not about to back out of riding with Gome... But, I will say
one thing! He talks like he's a spode on the net, I tell you!!! I am the
spode! <LOL>

The day with Gomer went really fast, kids took a real loving to him! I
will let Gomer post about the race (I have to get to work (hahaha)). I
will say one thing... Tommy took to him in a big way and Tom rode his
hardest race ever with Mike there! I think it was all due to Mike. I
need Mike to come up and go racing with Tommy every weekend! :-)

Like I said, I will let Gomer post about the race, but I won't let him let
out the brick wall! Come on Mike, you have to tell them about the tunnel!
<LOL>

More later.

That was perfect. I think it was a wise Idea not to make any
permanent or Set-up changes...but it would be great to hear Gomers
plot to get back at you.

Did you and Gomer actually know each other before this meeting or have you
just been discussing things on the net?
I find that most of the time when people talk like they're "spodes" they
really aren't. Once again I'm glad you two were able to get together for
some good times.

I've met quite a few folks through the net. Mike Baxter (not a spode),
Merrill Hoekstra (not a spode), Victor Johnson (not a spode), Paul
Favret (not a spode), Jeff Deeney (not a spode) and a few others that
I'm probably forgetting. In the future, I'm supposed to hook up with
Russ "MX only no trails" Schooley and Tom "Racing Calamity" Eidam.

Just posting across RMD... Had never met face to face until he had a
contract in MI and was "driving by". Although, the first time I met him I
knew it was him... The underware on his head was a dead giveaway!

I have always said... Anyone that is in the area, let me know and I will
be glad to meet them.

So Scott, once you put the black plastic on, did the bike fall off the
stand and start having a strange attraction to trees, porta-potties,
and concession stands?

No, not yet. But, at Mammoth a weird thing DID happen. Had to do with
my rear axle. I'd rather not go into it now though.
