Hey guys!

I'm been trail riding a bit and don't have a tool kit to take along on
the ride. All the tool bags seem to be butt-pack types that I don't
want 'cause I already have a kidney belt as well as my chect protector
has a lower attachment to protect around the mid section.

Is there a small tool pack that attaches to the bike? (I have a
kx250)

Thanks!

Scott

I usually carry a large assorment of tools and various items when I
ride. I gave up on kidney belts long ago. Anyway, if you go to
Wal-Mart, you can purchase a backpack/drink system. It should have a
waist strap and chest strap to keep it secure while riding. Cruz
Tools makes some nice little ready made tool kits. My wife has a tool
wrap that she can stuff in either her tool belt or her backpack. They
have one that you mount to your fender.

I get scared carrying tools while I ride on my body. I used to have a
fanny pack that wrapped over the bars and it worked great. I also have
seen a pack that attaches on the front fender.

Moose makes a nice one that attaches to the rear fender. I've had two of
them on two different bikes. You attach it by drilling through the fender
and running bolts with nylok nuts (anti-vibration nuts) through the thick
plastic base of the
bag. Works very well.

Here's one on eBay that came up when I googled "moose tool bag":

$36.95 is a good price for one, plus the $8.95 shipping. Not too bad. I paid
around $45 locally for mine.

Scott,

Try to ride with (1) Eric, Tami's husband. He carries enough tools to
reenergize a nuclear submarine. (2) Jeff Deeney, he has tools, but runs a
4 stoke and has extra gas for when you run out. (3) Mike Baxturd has a
modest amount of tools, but his head offers a handy traction strteam
crossing aid.

Don't ride with me, I have one sparkplug and wrench that hasn't been out of
my XL600R's compartment for several years. And I have no oil for the gas
you might drain out of my 4 stroke.

By the way, Eric will wrench on your bike to your satisfaction. Jeff will
more than likely get you in way over your head, see Woodsthrasher and his
KDX220.

Trying to help,

Joe

There are plenty of them around. My personal favorite is the "Ballistic
Fender Bag" from dirt-bike-gear.com. Here's a link to a bunch more.

Hey all!

Thanks for the suggestions and links! As one fella said, he didn't
feel comfy with the tools on his person and that's where I was coming
from. I ended up purchasing 3 different fender packs! Rocky Mountain
ATV MC seemed to have very good pricing for this so I took the Moose
suggestion and then found 2 other packs made by Tusk on their site.
The Moose bag was only 25 fun tickets and specs said it had room for
tools and tubes, etc... The Tusk packs were of different sizes but
one came with tire irons - and both were bought of only $15 apiece
(even the one with the tire irons!). The toughest thing was
guestimating how all the tools, a plug, etc would fit. I'm sure I'll
be able to put 2 of them to good use and maybe my riding buddy can use
the 3rd if he wants.

If anyone wants, I'll be glad to post a comparison after a few rides -
if anyone's interested...

Thanks again, guys!
