With Spodefests popping up all over the place, is there any interest
of having one in BC?

We have all sorts of riding, from MX to tight trails to open trails to
fire roads, your choice. I hope we can come up with something here,
reply if you would like to participate! Let me know what dates are
available for you guys.

I know everyone is getting anxious, but can we hold out to hear a final on
Cooperland?

I am just as anxious as anyone and I am pressed to set my vacation time for the
year, but I am holding out.

IF it does fall through, I am starting to think about setting up a SF... I did
Atlanta last year, I am thinking about going West... Or maybe Central West.

Example, Indiana... Haspen Acres offers some good trails, has some good Poker
Run loops already setup and Harescramble loops already marked. Two MX tracks
and camping facilities (primitive, but electric, water and washrooms). Sure
its close to home for me (about two hours) but I think that everyone making the
trip would enjoy it. Killer hills!

Red Bud MI!?!?! I know they have excellent MX track, I don't know about
trails. I do know they have good camping too.

Daniel Boone KY, Good track, good trails (from what I hear) and some good
camping with facilities.

Of course, further West, Ill, OK, would draw more of those crazy Westerners. I
just wanna see how those Colorado mountain goats ride. :-)

I would love to do Texas, but it is soooooo far! BC I can understand, you guys
are wayyyy up there. Sure hope you can come South sometime.

Anyhow, I'm holding out for a final word from Merfman. :-) I will do some
plaques for the "official" event too! Lord knows, we have plenty of them.

Hi Dave, Is the Bushwacker 100's date finalized, and is this a sanctioned
event. I hear you guys are forming a club in the Salmon Arm area. Good
luck with your Moto Cross track. June 28 is Monkey Wrench put on by the
West Coast Dirt Riders at Lytton, BC. This is a PNPWA points event, if you
like Cross Country at it's best don't miss this one. Please drop me a
e-mail and let me know how things are going.

Cam,

Count me and a half dozen other social misfits in. To refresh, I live in
Salmon Arm and get down to your neck of the woods fairly often. I've got
the XR600 finished and am dying to leth the machine speak! If you are
interested, we are holding the inagural "Bushwacker 100" up here on the July
long weekend. This will be a 100 km trail ride/race held here on Salmon Arm
on the slopes of Mt, Ida. It should be fun! I have a few buddies form the
Chilliwhack/Abbotsford area that would be up for a get together down there,
how about the Tailing Ponds at Hope? I hear its good there, I've never
beem.

I promise I'll let you all know as soon as I do. Again, Coop's busy with
the SX series and hasn't had time to stand back and look at his schedule.
At least that's what I've been told. My schedule for the summer is filling
up as well, so you aren't the only one waiting. :|

In article <6el3t3$4mf$1...@news.bctel.net>,

The "Bushwhacker 100" is as yet an unsanctioned event. I beleive it will be
held on the Sunday of the July long weekend. To contact the race organizer,
contact Garfield at 250-832-3883.

The B.C. Forest Service has given us a choice of two parcels of land for a
"off road vehicle" park. We have to get out and have a look and see what
they are like. I've been in Mexico for a couple of weeks so I am kinda out
of the loop at this point. We hope to have a MX track as well.

Great! We could go to the Tailing Ponds or Herling Island, both great
riding spots. Herling island is only accessable this time of year, as
it's on a river bar and the levels are very low right now for the
crossing. The place is gigantuan, and the trails there are excellent.
I've only been there twice myself but I'm dieing to go back. Anyone
think that trails one day and MX the next would be fun? Or do you
guys only do trails? :) Does the weekend of the 4th/5th sound good?
There's a MX school at the local track on the 4th also if anyone would
want to attend, signup is around $35.

What kind of terrain is the Bushwacker? Are handguards a neccessity?
Skid plate? (I'm without both currently) Sounds like fun :)

Hey Terry, are you in for Spodefest? I'm thinking the weekend of the
4th / 5th, there is a motocross school on the 4th and we could go to
Herling Island or the Hope Tailing Ponds on the 5th, both great riding
spots.

What's the terrain like at the Monkey Wrench? Hand Guards / Skid
Plate neccessary? Do we have to pre-sign?

Do you know of any clubs in my area? (Chilliwack-Hope area)

Take care!
