Starting to read some about dirt bikes and I see references to a MX
bike and an offroad bike. What's the difference? Thanks.

19" rear wheel VS 18" rear wheel. Wider ratio tranny in some cases. Larger
tanks in some cases.

Although some formidable MX bikes make great woods\off-road bikes as well.

CRF450
RMX250
KDX200
CR450R

Lights/lighting coil, kickstand, e-start (newer model four strokes),
etc.

It's easier to make a woods bike out of an MX bike than vice versa.

Offroad bikes generally have more tractable power (heavier flywheels,
milder porting, less explosive power) and softer plusher suspension
with lighter damping than motocross bikes. There are also things like
Bark Busters, wrap around skid plates, lighting, odometers, disc
guards, spark arrestors, easy access air filters, and larger capacity
fuel tanks that differentiate offroad bikes from their MX
counterparts.

The above are examples of MX bikes? Then KDX200 does not belong as its an
excellent example of woods bike.

I purchased a 2003 KTM 450 EXC RFS over Honda CRF450R in no small part due
to the effort required to convert the CRF into a woods bike. It would be
less of an effort for a B or A rider to accept the CRF with less changes
than I would need. Then the e-start on the KTM was a huge advantage as
well.

When Honda finally works the same magic on a CRF450R to create a CRF450X
as they have done with CRF250R to CRF250X, then that will really be
something. I couldn't wait for the CRF250X and don't regret the KTM one
bit.

Um no those are just my bikes. The KDX and the RMX are both woods bikes.

Wouldn't happen to have any spare stuff for the RMX lying around, would you?
