Follow the link and find the bike of your dreams or have a good laugh
at my expense. Will consider a trade for '95 and newer MX bike in
raceable condition.

I should have been more specific on the trade options. I'm looking
for a 250, and the suspension should have a mid-valve. I need to
research which bikes have this but I'm leaning toward a KX or YZ.

They can't possibly be the same forks that were on the '96 CR's can
they? They were the worst forks I've ever ridden except when they
were well worked in and about due for seals and unfortunately,
bushings. When the seals were bleeding on the fork tubes, they were
AWESOME! With new seals and bushings, they were LETHAL!

Close, very close. The '96 forks were the same as the '97 and '98 YZs.
They were acceptable for most parts of the country (read this as
non-rocky).

Umm, not exactly. With proper valving they perform quite well. I've ridden
Dave's YZ and it works quite well. My bike handles rocks very well, it's the
bikes owner that doesn't. However, Merf and Rex flat kicks anus in the rocks on
97-99 YZ's.

What modifications make them work in rocks? Assuming it is possible. I
do seem to have problems in rocks......it could be me though...

That's easy. Simply invert the forks. Turn them upsidedown (while still
attached to the bike) and navigate the rocks that way. Works for me ;).
