Also great to see Deegan get blown out early and have to resort to a
clown act on the sideline to try and get camera time.
WTF is "Pop"? It was used interchangeably for about 10 different
things. "Yea, McGrath lost the pop off the line, then didn't really
have the pop on the jump face to pop over the bar. I'm sure he'll pop
over to the starting line to take another pop!"
Tim
<LOL> My kids and I were laughing at the "Pop" comments. The announcers were
saying that McGrath and Buyten were missing "Pop" whether they were not high
enough, or too far forward. They were also making some comments on hitting the
brakes too early or too late. The brakes are only going to bring the front end
down and maybe (absolutely minimal) the rear up due to the momentum.
We finally turned the volume down and watched... It was nice to see. I agree
with your comment on Deegan... He is another 20 something 12 yr old.
I hope they air the Supermoto on Sunday! Hey, this is not as good as MX or SX,
but it is interesting to see these guys jump three stories high (33' 6" to be
exact) with a 25' run.

Is that 33'6" from the ground or the top of the ramp? The first jump
didn't look like it was anywhere near the 26' or so from the top of
the ramp. Maybe 10 or 12 feet.
I am guessing the jump is probably 8 to 10 feet so the bar is somewhere around
20 to 25 feet above the jump.

They mentioned that it was from the ground during the broadcast.
None of these guys would have trouble clearing the height, it's just
that they put the bar so close to the ramp, and the takeoff was so
vertical that they hardly moved forward from the lip.
McGrath hit it with the back tire coming *down* about 3 times in a
row. The one time he actually thought he'd done it and came back
pumping his fist. Got clear back to the starting area before he looked
back and saw it wasn't up there.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm glad he finished the way he did. Is the
Supermoto going to be televised? The way they're hyping it, I would
imagine that it is.
Levy: MC smiles and signs autographs. Does that make him a bad
person?
