I think I might be a little tight, as I was (knowingly wrong) using the
cable adjustment as easy idle adjustment.

Stop laughing.

Okay, so what do I want? Do I want to feel an ever-so-small piece of slack
in the cable before it takes up the slide? Zero slack on the nose?
I'd better dial in that carb better - she stalled in some off-throttle
corner entrances yesterday, just once or twice, and I got her going with
momentum and a clutch dump. Bubba Mack wouldn't put up with that crap.

I gotta start paying a little attention to setting this bike up properly.
It's so good, and I'm not even using all the wonderful adjustability.

Sheeeit, all the bikes I have owned, you had better have a wee bit o slack
before slide moves, or you find throttle changes with different degrees of
turn... I get as much out as possible (zero I would shoot for) without rpm
changes turning bars lock to lock slowly. slack in there makes my arm
tired.

Sheeit. If turning the bars affects my carb in any way, I figure I have a
cable routing problem and figure it out right away. That's totally
unacceptable in tight woods.

If it were mine, I'd shoot for zero slack and make sure it was
still zero at all handlebar displacements. If moving the bars
revealed a position where it actuated the throttle slightly, I'd
zero it for that. Good luck!

That's the way I like mine but when Murray rides it, he thinks it's
too tight, says he can't get off the throttle easy/quick enough. He
runs his a wee bit looser.

I digress on this one, some bikes (older) it didnt seem to me you could ever
get it perfect. the new gasgas I have, (all original, but I have put on new
taper bars, isn't perfect, close but not perfect. older bikes and stuff
where the throttles didn't have the 90 degree twist grips, that used
'generic' cables routed the best ya could and all, sometimes would throttle
the bike if turned, but only slightly.

yeah nothing like new bikes & perimeter frames to fix this, hehhee

I sent a customer one of these a couple of weeks ago. I will report
back with his appraisal.

Endorsed by Heather Wilson. I raced with her once a long while back.
She came up behind me and made lots of noise like I was in her way (I
was). I pulled over and she was gone like a shot. I had some friends in
the Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom and got her best wishes on
video tape for our sailors on board the Abraham Lincoln, which was in
the middle of things at the time. She was very friendly- and as I said,
fast. OF
