I heard there are now dirtbikes with electric start from KTM and others,
this seems like the best idea ever, since sometimes you are on a steep hill
and the bike dies and there is no way to kick it on a vertical incline.
This feature could also cause you to win a race you would have otherwise
lost, for the same reason.

which are the dirt bikes that have the electric start feature available?

But, hey! It's a good excuse! I think I'll save it for the upcoming GP.

Ha! Notice they are ALL four strokes! Heavy, massive electric
starter not needed for lightweight, nimble two stroke racers.

Not needed for most four strokes either. Manufacturers are just
slapping them on there for the spindly-leg two stroke guys that can't
figure out how to start them.

My 13 year old doesn't have a problem firing up his YZ250F first kick.
Of course, he's learned not to spastically flail away at it like alot
of 2S guys.

The bait has been cast.

Not sure which you were pointing at. My brother-in-law's xr650l is an
estart. Just verified on the Honda site also. I did have a typo on the
crf230 it is a F not a R. Both are estart. Guess some of the older
xr650l's weren't.

LOL. I'm with ya! Don't forget about the old guys who are simply too lazy
to kick-start a bike... that's where I fit in ;).

This is a new excuse ... I thought it was your knee? E-start would be nice
after dropping the bike four times on the same obstacle, killing it every
time ... not that I would know.

No Jeff, the knee thing is part of *my* nifty little package of
excuses. Well, that and being way too short to kick the WR
effectively, according to Yamaha USA.

New rings in the Pampera wreaked havoc on my knee, but it's not so bad
now.
An hour on the concrete MX track at Carnegie is worse.

No, the knee is what I couldn't kick YOUR bike - or any of those other silly
two strokes with their kick levers mounted up near your balls...

So what you're saying is that the knee excuse is for chicks? It still fits
for Jay. ;-)

New rings in my CR500 required a healthy boot.

Ouch ... I try to stay off the track ... pain.

Yours must be low mount ... balls not lever.

Heh. You should try my ATK. It has a KX80 sized kickstarter,
mounted high, on the left side. It starts great when warm, even after
my annual tip-over. When cold, I lean against a tree to start.

Oops, my mistake. I forgot that Honda "upgraded" their foo-foo bike
lineup by giving them the "CRF" moniker.
