Saw a Yellow bike in the dealers window today, I thought it was the new
Suzuki 4s. Nope. Yamaha in Kenny Roberts colors & stripes. WOW ! good
lookin bike. Is this a special from Yamaha ? Are they all this color
? I don't believe my local dealer is this savy.

The yellow (old skool looking) bikes are an option that is
available from Yamaha, for some additional $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
They do look good from the pictures I've seen, I haven't
been out to see one in the flesh yet though.

They're about 200.00 more than their blue counterparts. The YZ45F SE
(special edition) has a retail of $7099.00

They are very cool. I just don't like the idea of paying the extra money to
then go out and race / play / beat up this fine piece of equipment. Maybe I
can just buy aftermarket plastics in yellow and beat that up.

I have pretty much decided on the new 06 model. I was going to save a few
bucks and get a used 04 or so, but I've decided to splurge a bit. My kids
won't go to college anymore, but that's their problem.

I've been down at my local dealer in Oregon City and beginning some dialog.
I think I have them down to about 6499 OTD.

I think there's a big enough difference between the '04 and '06 that it's
probably worth it to buy new if you've gotta have it now. Hey, they can go
to JC for 2 years, and then work part time during college.

It's an option on several '06 models. It's $200 more than the blue
plastic. It looks very nice but it wasn't worth the additional money
to me. Beware of the dealer that tells you it's "collectable" - even
with the little emblem thing molded into the rear fender.

I think for the same money, once the aftermarket folks get on the
stick, you should be able to have a spare set of plastic/graphics for
the same money.

The rest of the bike is the same- no difference in the serial number
or anything. Every bit of the special stuff (including the rear fender
emblem) is available separately as a spare part.

Good luck Tom, go get er! Doe's that big dealer in Hillsboro sell
Yamaha's? I know they under sell their red bikes! Don't even try the
yamaha shop in Salem they suck! IMHO, might as well go to a car dealer!

I don't know is it's a nastagia thing or what but I like the Yamaha in
yellow. My last two bikes have been blue, I've been thinking the next
would be red. I stopped & drooled on the yellow one today. The sales
guy told me the yellow & blue where the same cost. The Yamaha web site
says different. My quess is he'd 'discover' the added cost in the last
3 seconds of making the deal.

Dat orange/yellow like the old 125's from the late 70's? Cool.
Or Suz/Yam yellow from that era?
Mine CR-390 was black, my buds was purple, but most 250's
orange/red....

Hillsboro doesn't sell blue. Got a quote from Salem at full retail, but no
fees.

Action has been the most willing to deal so far, and I like the guys. Ernie
with the leopard hair - funny.

I get emails on occasion about the 426, but nobody's serious yet.

There's an '06 YZ250 2-smoker on CL tonight. Guy broke his legs on it, now
selling it. I keep hoping I'll find someone that decides they have to part
with their new 450. No luck yet.

"Discover" that you brought $200 less than you thought you did or that
you can't do this deal without those new Tech 8s over on the shelf.
