I know this question is a LONG SHOT, to try and get a answer to, but I
thought I'd try RMS...as I have had tremendous luck getting some answers
to things in the past from fellow tread heads.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Oh...by the way...this kit looks terrific in the box...lots of interior
stuff...engine...transmission etc., individual links and damn few sinks
anywhere...looks almost DML quality in the box. Accuracy...who knows..I
only have one picture of it in the Eastern Front book by Squadron Pubs.
(the decal sheet includes the markings shown in that photo by the way).
Fit problems??? Well, I will soon build it and discover them as I go..if
any.

No long shot, I am painting mine right now. The decals are for a Ukrainian
partisan element who got one of the T-35s and fought with it until it broke
down. Steve Zaloga has a photo of this in his Concord book on Stalin's heavy
tanks. BTW don't worry about it -- that tank was one of the last batch of T-35s
built (1938-39) with a conical turret and L-10 gun, which the kit is not. It is
a T-35A built in 1937 as it has the AA mount.
The kit is not bad, but everyone so far has appeared to have a warpage problem
with the very long upper hull. There are also some fit problems with the main
gun when you use the KT-28 (the stubby one) which goes on the kit. The parts
are optimized for the L-10 gun and do not fit well, which means cut and file
until it works.
Also the fat red star on the decals needs to be a casting on the roof, not a
decal. Use the decal to make a styrene one out of .010 and cement it directly
to the roof.

I'm working on the ICM T-35 right now. I just wanted to warn you that
the track fit around the drive sproket is a bit tight. I shaved down
some of the sproket teeth and glued each link around the drive
sproket. I then mae long lenthgs around a foot long and did the bottom
run. Next I conected with shorter lengths the top run.
The kit is looking ok for a Russian kit but it still is not up to par
with the newer DML and Tamiya offerings. If one had alot of T-35
reference you could really go to town with this kit. I'm building mine
right out of the box and can't wait to finish it so I can get started
with my next project.
Happy modeling
Bob
Did you come up with any spare track links when you got done? My kit
showed up with two links missing, and then I managed to lose another one
somehow. If I need to somehow build three links myself, I'd like to find
out NOW, instead of when I've got the little boogers all glued together.

Not Microsoft's track links, etc.
I did screw up on the tracks, one side has nice sag while the other
side I shorted about 2 or 3 links and the sag is not as good... Oh
well, I suppose the crew tightened up one side of the T-35.
now I'm working on the turrets... This thing is starting to take alot
of time. I need to do alot of filling on the turret halves.
I'm hoping to have most of it finished in 2 weeks to take to my club
meeting.
PS- I'll build my tamiya Cromwell after the T-35. It is nice to build
a newer Tamiya kit after building a kit from Russia :)
Bob
The photos of the tanks show very little sag in the tracks. This makes sense
when you realize that there were only 61 built, and they were the pride and joy
of the tank industry during the 1930s -- the picture of Soviet technology and
might, so to speak. These things were treated like prima donnas -- right up to
the point where they all broke down ont their way into combat and were blown up
by their crews in place.

Ahhhhh! Ukraine, not Russia! At least it isn't from
Georgia - Joe's ghost might have decided to haunt you. :-)

I am VERY relieved. I've still got one of these Mirage T-26 things-- I
lost TWO LINKS, and now I can't finish it.

Yeah, I've just finished cutting the parts off of one of the 45mm turrets.
I seem to be working my way through this thing sprue-by-sprue; it's kind
of neat that I CAN build it that way.

I've got the DML T-34/85m1944 waiting in the closet, m'self.
