The weather these days is really HOT! and BAD news for my model TAMIYA
ACRYLIC paints they are dying up! Now what can I do? I know I can use
alchohol to thin them. but alcohol accelerates dry up time. and they
are usually use to thin prior to aibrushing, and my problem is i'm not
using them for airbrushing yet. I just want them to be in the bottle.

Should I thin with TAMIYA thinners x-20A? Will that accelerate my paint
to dry up?

This is really becoming a problem for me....please help me guys!

thx

I just use isopropyl alcohol--it work really well at bringing the paint
back to a fully liquid state, even if it is close to congealing. If you
add the isopropyl and seal the jars, they ought not dry out any faster.

When this starts to happen to Tamiya paints, or Gunzes, too, add a little
Future to them - it will make them "come alive" again like the lightning bolt
to Frankenstein's monster.

It's alive! It's alive! :-)

You can use a 50/50 mix of alcohol and water as your thinner. It'll be
nearly as effective as straight alcohol, and it won't dry as fast.

You can also use windshield fluid as your paint thinner, either straight
or diluted 50/50 with water.

And finally, you can add a few drops of acrylic retarder to the paint.
It slows down the drying time. If your hobby shop doesn't have any, try
craft stores and artist supply stores.

There are usually two mixtures of alcohol on the shelves:
90% solution (90 alcohol:10 water) and 70% solution. If you
are using the 90% solution, switch to the 70% to see if that
helps. Or, you can just thin the 90% with more water.

Good evening,

On the same subject of thinning Tamiya Acrylic.
Assuming a new unopened bottle, What is the recomended thinning for Tamiya
Acrylics before spraying? Also any suggestions as to the best pressure to spray
it at?

Thanks in advance
