We won't know until the Navy, NTSB and the Coast Guard bring her up from
the bottom of the Pacific.

PT 109 was sunk while under the command of JFK Sr. I'm not sure, but I'm
guessing PT 109 was sunk in the Pacific (judging by the post you quoted
above).

It was rammed and cut in half by a Japanese destroyer, in the Slot, north of
Guadalcanal. I can`t get to my book right now, too many new books piled in
front of it.
BTW-Try a dark olive drab for the 109 boat.

Here is a posting from several years ago. Hope this helps.

PT109 Paint scheme

If you are painting the boat from when it was manufactured to before JFK
took command you would paint it as follows:

1. Deck and all upper surfaces: Dark Gray 5D. This can be duplicated with
Floquil 818646 "Navy Dark Gray".

2. Hull: Navy Gray (a). This can be duplicated with Floquil 818650 "Navy
Light Gray".

3. Below Water Line: Coperoid. This can be duplicated using Floquil Boxcar
Red 110074.

If you are painting the boat after JFK took command you would paint it
"MTB Green". This can be duplicated by mixing 4 parts Ocean Green (5-OG)
Floquil 818606 to 1 part Navy Green (5-NG) Floquil 818608. The Bottom was
"Coperoyd" and can be duplicated using Floquil Boxcar Red 110074 (Railroad
Color).

Brian,
My son, you have to go back to my post and read between the LINE! It
was supposed to be a sarcastic joke, but like my brother-in-law, you
spoil the fun out of a joke when it has to be explained (long
sigh!!!!). THIS IS NOT A FLAME, REPEAT THIS IS NOT A FLAME!! (Shouting
intended).

Kind of reminds me of my stepdaughter.

She's a blond. I have to explain blond jokes to her. Ruins the fun.

Understand that after JFK took over, the PT had new armament added in the
form of a 37mm anti tank gun complete with shield and trail legs but minus
the wheels, bolted onto the foredeck. Saw a picture of a kit in an old FSM.
BTW, that kit was very green...
