I have just finished painting my f15 kit from Hasegawa. However I have some
problem when I try to paint the panel line. It seems like the panel line is
not deep enough to allow the paint to stay in the panel line when I wipe off
the excess paint outside the panel line. Therefore, I have to re-deepen the
panel line by using x-acto knife. However, the result is not very good. If
anybody know other ways to paint the panel line, please let me know.

Various techniques for rescribing panel lines are described in our FAQ
at <http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/rms_tips/rmsfaq.19.html#q1>.

When you wipe off the excess paint do you go with the line or across
it? Going across the line will help keep the wash in the line, if you
wipe along the line you'll clean out the panel line. Also, let the paint
dry before you wipe it off, if it's still wet in the panel line it will
come off easier. BTW, I wipe towards the rear of the a/c because this is
the direction of airflow and the excess paint will help weather the
finish. Obviously this is hard to do with lines running in the direction
of airflow so I will wipe diagonally across the line then back towards
the rear of the plane once I'm clear of the line. If you want a clean
finish with highlighted lines then you can wipe direction(as long as
it's across the line) you want and clean off the excess once it's away
from the line.
You can also use a very sharp pencil or technical pen to highlight
panel lines.
