I was able to pick up the Verlinden Firefly conversion at Region V for
$8 and need some info on a good color match and where I can get
markings. I'm also interested in seperate link tracks for it. Does DML
sell their sherman tracks by themselves yet?
Thanks in advance

Not yet. The VLS conversion kit, alas, is not worth the $8 you paid for
it. The CMD one is very good, and the DML kit is not bad either.

Hello cookie, I am building a Firefly IC using Chesapeake Models
composite hull and Firefly turret. They recommend Italeri's lower hull
which is what I used but the Chesapeake upper hull comes up short in the
rear. The mufflers have to be shortened or they won't fit. Or you could
lengthen the hull whew! (I don't think so).
Have you built this conversion or experienced this problem?
The detail is excellent on these parts and the only other thing I did
have a problem with is the periscope covers being too wide, I have not
made the periscope guards yet, but it looks like the covers will be in the
way.

I've got the conversion and fooled around with it, but never noticed that
before. Bill has his demo which he brings to all the shows, and I never
noticed that the parts don't fit on the hull. You got me puzzled on this
one, as have never heard any complaint about the fit or lack thereof.

I am baffeled myself, I have nothing but good to say about C.M.D.
products. The front of the hull mated perfectly to the transmision but
came up short in the rear. Oh well.
I am just about ready for paint and I am putting this on a 5x7 base.
The D.M.L. track is articulated to the ground, and I am adding the
Verlinden British tanker figure drinking tea. I wish these figures
weren't so darn big.
I also used The Tank Workshop pressed road wheels they are real nice.

Thanks talk to ya later.

Matt,

Better get a set of plans to double check things. IIRC I read
somewhere that the gun barrel is too long.

Just noticed your sig; are you a Seinfeld fan or just a messy eater?
