"Hot Stuff" putty question

I'm having difficulties with the putty product "Hot Stuff". The problem is
it does not always adhere to the plastic. Sometimes it works great, other
times in does not. Sink holes fill great. Seams are 50%-50%.

I thin the product with the thinner made by the folks who make "Hot
Stuff". I have also used it straight from the can..
Any thoughts/comments on this product in general? Any advise?

Hot Stuff putty? The only Hot Stuff I"ve ever heard of is a brand name
for super glue (cyanoacrylate). Do they make putty as well?
