I would like to identify the name of the plane flown in this famous
bombing raid by Ramsey "Banks" Potts. His nephew told me of his role and
by coincidence he lives close to me here in Virginia. My son wants to
build out his Pro Modeler version in his old markings. Any help would
be appreciated.

Ramsey Potts' airplane on the Ploesti raid was named "The Duchess," and it
belonged to the 93rd Bomb Group. A photo appears on page 12 of Dana Bell's "Air
Force Colors, Volume 2," but most of "The Duchess" is hidden behind "Joisey
Bounce."

It's not much, but it's a start. Perhaps some other RMS readers can help out...
