There were 128 YES votes and 33 NO votes, for a total of 161 valid votes.
There were 3 abstains.
For group passage, YES votes must be at least 2/3 of all valid (YES and NO)
votes. There also must be at least 100 more YES votes than NO votes.
There is a five day discussion period after these results are posted.
Unless serious allegations of voting irregularities are raised, the group may
not be voted on again for six months.

RATIONALE: rec.models.scale.marketplace
Many groups in the Rec* hierarchy have found it useful to separate
out the buying and selling of items: rec.arts.anime.marketplace,
rec.arts.comics.marketplace, rec.arts.sf.marketplace,
rec.autos.marketplace, rec.bicycles.marketplace,
rec.games.board.marketplace, rec.travel.marketplace,
rec.games.frp.marketplace, rec.games.video.marketplace,
rec.music.marketplace, rec.music.makers.marketplace, (and with
another name: rec.radios.swap).
Rec.models.scale.marketplace will be of benefit to:
A. The model buyer: a place to buy models.
B. The model seller: a place to sell models.
C. The model dealer: not only for buying and selling but also
discussing the business side of the hobby business.
D. The rec.models.scale reader who has no interest in buying or
selling models on the Internet: This will remove many annoying
postings for buying or selling models from RMS.
CHARTER: rec.models.scale.marketplace
Rec.models.scale.marketplace will include all aspects of the buying
and selling of model kits and related items including items wanted,
items for sale, items to trade. With respect to hobby stores: the
business side of hobby retail, lists and queries (such as what mail
order dealers specialize in a particular area) should be posted to
rec.models.scale.marketplace.
