Stampede Help - Need a Heat Sink

Does anybody have any idea how to attach a heat sink to the Electric
Stampede? If anybody has any idea, please email me.

I had raced Stampedes for years and currently still own a
"land speed record attempt" Stampede.
Needless to say, I have seriously abused my many Stampedes.
Never did I melt down a motor on any of them.
I used to run an Associated narrow heat-sink on the motor.
It helped me push taller gearing than was normally advised.
But the statement can be made that any time you NEED an additional
heat-sink, there is something wrong.
You should run a smaller pinion and/or a larger spur.

I have always run with a heat sink on my cars. Granted, all of my cars to
date have been Associated, (i.e. RC10T, TC3, B4) but they have all had
heatsinks, or at least metal motor plates. (B4) What is the lowest turn
motor you have run? I was hoping to get down to a 14T as I have one lying
around.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

I was referring to the Stampede only, the plastic motor mounting area
on the stampede makes it tough to get a sink on the motor of any good size.
It is therefore best to keep the motor cooler by gearing down.
I too use sinks on most of my other cars and trucks, they help a ton in most
situations. Just not enough room on the Stampede for a good sized sink
without carving away a lot of plastic.
The best modification I have seen to a Stampede was a Losi aluminum motor
mount/motor guard somehow mounted to the tranny, the motor mounted right
to the stock Losi motormount. The mount itself acts like a sink and gives
you
some room to add a clipon sink to the motor too.
Sorry I cant be more specific, didn't know the guy too well.
Looked like a nice setup though.

Thanks for the insight. It actually took me two minutes to cut a portion
out of the plastic on the left gear box. I have a aluminum wheelie-bar for
the truck, so it has the protection back there. I would not recommend it if
there is no protection. Too much plastic would be exposed.
