**I know this may be a little off subject, but I have been an active
poster and reader of this newsgroup for a while, so bear with me.**

Can you help me?

My wife and I are newlyweds, just 14 months into our marriage. We
have been hit with a bad stroke of luck. We got pregnant on our
honeymoon in the first week of May 1994. We had a good pregnancy up
until December 29th. That is when we no longer felt our precious baby
move. We went into the hospital and they confirmed with ultrasound that
our little one was dead, no movement, no tiny heartbeat. We then had to
be induced, and our boy was born 12:30pm on the 31st. There was no
reason for his death. The autopsy revealed nothing. He was a perfect
baby; he had all ten toes, all ten fingers, two eyes, a heart, two lungs,
two kidneys, liver, brain, everything.
We were crushed. Not only with the emotional stress of having to
bury our first born, but also crushed by the weight of hospital and
funeral bills (and that was after the medical insurance paid its bit).
Did you know the government would not allow us to have a tax deduction
for our boy? They say he has to take one breath of air to be claimed as
a dependant. We went through as much expense as parents who lost their
child after taking one breath of air. That tax deduction would have made
an $810.00 difference in our 1994 tax return!
The story goes on as well as the bad luck...
In May of 1995 we got pregnant again. We also had another
problem that had to be taken care of with my wife. She was diagnosed
with Dysplasia, a condition where there is abnormal skin growth on her
cervix. This condition got worse so the doctor had to perform a minor
surgery (a copostomy sp?) to get samples that he could take into the lab
to find out if they were cancerous. He did the surgery June 20th, 1995.
We experienced a little bleeding after the surgery two days later, but
it stoped.
July 1st rolled around, and she started to bleed again. This
time we went to the emergency room to find out if the surgery had started
to bleed again. The ER could find nothing wrong, so we were send home
with the normal instructions of bed rest and drink lots of fluids.
On July 3rd she was bleeding a lot. It was like she was having a
heavy period. We were both scared. We couldn't get a hold of the OB/GYN
who did the surgery so once again we went back to the ER. We spent six
and a half hours there. They finally announced to us that we were having
a miscarriage and it was not due to the surgery. What devastation. We
have a still born then we have a miscarriage, both on the holidays!
Needless to say we are really financially strapped. My internet
account is going to expire soon and I won't be able to renew. I have
already had to sell all my radio conrolled car equipment, my first and
foremost love (even, yes, over computers). I fear I'll end up selling
all my computer equipment just to stay afloat.
I hope you can help my wife and I. We really need it. Money, of
course, would be our physical need, but you could send us a kind word to
lift up our spirits, or even send up a prayer for us.
Thank you for your time and God bless.
