Hello Boaters, I was just curious if any of you out there have been or
are using the OPS .67 Super marine engine? What do you think of it? Does
it really put out 4.25 horsepower. How well does its disk rotor hold up?

I know the Rossi .65 is a great motor yet the OPS has better specs so I
am wondering which one to get.

Please respond by email or in this newsgroup.

Thank you for reading this, Glen

Glen
A number of us in the NEB. run OPS.67 around here. I ran ops .67 in
Riggers,Cats and Monos with good results. I still run the First .67 I
ever got and it is still alive and kicking. I have over the years I put
bearings and a piston and sleeve in it. But this is not out of the norm.
I have never had a rotor problem, I did see a person have the rotor pin
come lose and saw the rod in two , but that some thing that is not a
factory problem. OPS alway had conservative HP. ratings. None of this
down hill with a wind stuff.I have been pretty happy over the years(10)
or so. May be some of the other boats could give you some input too.

Glen-
OPS .67 is a good motor, but take a look at new CMB.67cam motor. Awesome
powerplant, stronger than Picco EXR & has drum rotor too!!

I have seen alot of OPS 67 run & they do work good. But I would keep it
pretty much stock. Most of the ones that I seen have rotor problem s were
modified & the rpms were up there. My self I am a picco man cant beat the EXr
67. Have had it for 3 yrs been good . Broke a rod last year but it happined
when I dumped at full speed . Cant blame motor for that. A friend fo mine has
had his share of disk probs .Most time when disk goes it pretty much ruins the
motor. But his motors do produce alot of rpm too
