Has anybody ever heard of converting an RC10GT to a paved oval racer?
What setup would one need to do something like this and would it be
competitive against other machines while racing?

Thanks,
Mark

I have an RC10GT which is setup with some Road Hawg tires from
Pro-Line, a low ride height, and a sleeker body (not much of a
difference) which seems to perform pretty well on pavement.

However, I have never seen people around my area race 10GT's against
each other on pavement, so I wouldn't know if my truck holds a candle
or not. I did play with the suspension settings and elimated some of
the push characteristic of the big truck tires. I have lightened it a
bit too, so that helps.

I doubt a converted RC10GT would hold a candle to a made-for oval
racer. I have a Nitro Star SS .15 in my truck, but the guy I drive
with has a GP10 with a .12 OS and he clocks me every time. Better
handling, lower weight, and the trucks can't compete :)

I race my GTX on asphalt oval, so far we have only done it about 4 times.
A friend has a RC10GT and races with us. He put "Road Hogs" on his truck
and lowered the ride height a little, and said that he put some restrictors
in the shocks. I think you need to heavier springs on the right front and
left rear, and heavy shock oil all around, 70 or 80 wt. Just some
thoughts. OOPS I almost forgot, you will need to change the gear ratio to
compensate for the difference in tire size.
