Before her career in higher education, Julie worked in the telecommunications industry where she led marketing for Comcast's line of business class products. She holds a B.A. in Communication Arts from Notre Dame of Maryland University, an M.A in Legal and Ethical Studies from University of Baltimore, as well as an M.S. in Digital Communications from Syracuse University.

Prior to UMGC Ventures, Wendy was divisional vice president at Laureate Education, where she led the development, commercialization, and scale of digital teaching and learning solutions for over 80 universities around the world. During her tenure, she also led the College of Nursing at Walden University, overseeing enrollment, marketing, portfolio management, online program development, and profit and loss operations. She has additionally held senior leadership roles with Carnegie Innovations (an affiliate of Carnegie Mellon University), Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Thomson Reuters, and Silicon Valley-based startup DigitalThink, guiding digital transformation efforts and spearheading new lines of business growth.

The Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration-General Studies degree provides a broad overview of the functional areas of business with a selected area of specialization. Students take foundation courses in economics, mathematics, computing skills, and accounting; core courses that relate to the basic functions of business, such as finance, management, marketing, and operations management; and area of specialization courses that focus on a specific topic, such as international studies, mass communication, criminology, science, or a foreign language.

Agile has its roots in software development but is now used in many different industries, including tech, marketing, design, and finance. Even many industries that have relied on traditional project management styles like construction have begun to incorporate Agile practices into their work.
