Within the last month or so, I read from some one in this ng, that free web
space is available some where. I'm getting ready to dump AOL, but want to keep
my web page...hosted by who ever can give me free space.

BTW, I'm using 100% free internet access through BlueLight.com. Out of all
people K-Mart has teamed up with Yahoo, and it works like a charm. Access
numbers accross the US too!

Any ideas on the free web space?

Dennis.

Try going to www.geocities.com . You can get up to 15 mb of space free.
Visitors to your site will get a small advertisement window. I used it for
our club site. You can check it out at
www.geocities.com/capecanaveral/runway/8362 . Hope this helps.

Also try:

www.freeservers.com

Our club set up shop there and has been working well over a year.
Supports FTP transfers and they have increased available webspace again
this year.

Good luck!

Try www.xoom.com

Up to 500MB free space and no annoying banners that pop up like geocities
has.
Only a small banner at the top that doesn't refresh. I like it.

There are literally dozens of free web hosting places that DON'T put
their intrusive advertising all over your page. Here is a good one for
beginners: http://www.homestead.com

If you want to put up a business site with no popups or banners, try:

I like xoom too, but the name I need for my local club is taken for some
crappy site :P I was wondering if there is something like rcplanet or
something that hosts RC sites? I thought I remembered seeing something,
but don't remember where it was. It'd be really nice to be hosted by a
hobby related server rather than geocities(barf) or xoom or whatever else.
Does anyone know of anyplace like I'm talking?

Hey Dennis I think the one your referring to is R/C Wizard at

<http://www.rcwizard.com>

I have all the plans for StarCad parked there for an FTP site.

Tony is really friendly and will help you make your move by providing
storage space and online help via email.

The 500MB is a succky fileserver, can't be used to make a web page.
However, their webspace is usable, unless you try to store 340MB.
(done it, got the T-shirt :)
