Sig King Kobra pilots:

I am curious about the Sig King Kobra (.60 sized). What engines and
retracts do you have installed in your planes?

I estimate that with a 12" pitch prop at 13,000 RPM that maximum possible
speed would be around 140 - 150 mph. What kind of speeds are you
experiencing?

Thanks in advanced for the feedback,

Jeff

140-150 Mph LOL in your dreams! Sorry that was rude but No! way that Lead
sled will that speed with a Slush bucket 60 turning 13,000. Maybe if you
got 17,000-23,000 with a 12 X 7???? there is a challenge.
Then Maybe.!

Have Fun

Jack,
I think I want to know what engine will turn a 12" pitch prop at 13K! Heck,
I will settle for knowing which off the self nitro bomb will spin a 12 X 7
(seven, not 12) at 20+K!

ROFLOL!

don't think so... i'm using a shadel piston / sleave with a
pipe...retracts... 30% fuel.. and while its fast.. if its making
80-100mph...i'd be surprised...

however...the plane is fast, smooth and lands great. good builder... the
only thing is.. the area for the fuel tank is small. the engine i'm using
sucks the gas. i can get about 6-8 min on a extra large tank.

have fun

LOL!
My Point exactly Never saw a 60 turn that high unless it was a Inducted fan
with a 3 Stage Fan. And there about 7".

Have Fun

I'm flying one with an ST. 75 and an APC 12-8. It's been radar clocked
in the 100 MPH range. The KK has a thick wing, more pitch would not
necessarily get it to 150 MPH. A hot, piped .90 possibly would.

This is such a great flying airplane that I don't get tha concerned
with speed only.

Have fun,
Barry

Try to get it clocked. Mine has done 96 one way and 104 the other,
clocked on calibrated police radar. I'm using an ST .75, no pipe, no
retracts.

What plane and engine (non-ducted fan) set-up would you recommend to achieve
140+ MPH flights? The Great Planes Patriot has been discontinued and I
would perfer not to fly a Diamond Dust.

What do you think?

QM-40 Even with a Sport High End 40 turning 9-7 1/4 @ 17,000 they fly @
about 120 with a Hot Nelson! or Jett they can hit the 150 +Range. But those
Motors turn 23,000 + I have an Old little Toni that I raced years ago with
an Old OS40/VRP that's still turning 23,000 and it still fly's over 140 Mph.
These Aircraft with a Sport Engine are still fast! Is this what your
looking for?
Even a Cheap RTC Viper or Scat Cat style Q-500 with a Quality Q-500 Motor
(17,500-24,000) will fly in excess of 140+.

Also We have a 1/4 Scale Racing Association and there is allot of 120 YS and
allot of others that are turning in Excess of 120 Mph.

Hope this answers your question
Have Fun

I put a gps in my Goldberg Piper Cub and I was very surprised to see that it
flew straight and level at 92 MPH the engine being a OS .70 four stroke.
These planes are traveling faster than they appear. My friend and I was
playfully guessing the speeds before we checked it, my guess was 55 his 65.
thanks

Thanks for the info. I won't be purchasing a Sig. I am going the Q-500
route.

Appreciate the feedback!
