I would be interested in comments from people who have recently built
the Babbitt 4-4-0 or All-Nation diesel switcher kits.

Mostly just opinions on how the kits go together and how well they run.
Any "pitfalls"? On the switcher - what drive is better; chain or gear?

I built a single drive switcher about 30 years ago, so I have an idea
what that kit is like (or was). I have never seen a Babbitt kit.

Are the All-Nation kits still available?? If so, does anyone have contact
info, reatial source, etc??

TIA,

I have the F-3 and the switcher.

They are well made craftsmen kits. there is a lot of work involved.

I used body putty and sanding to clean up seams etc.

I also found the drives sub standard and have replaced all of mine with
precision motors and/or Magic Carpet drives on all axles
