Does anyone have contact information for Cannonball Car Shops? I've been
unable to find out anything about them. I found some articles on Dejanews
that mention Cannonball kits but I do not know if this is the same company.
Specifically I am interested in trying to perform the freight car
modifications from the article on upgrading your freight car fleet from
"Freight Car Projects and Ideas". Alternately, any ideas for other
similar replacement Youngstown doors would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try the Model Railroad Warehouse @ http://www.mrrwarehouse.com/

They are distributing the Troop Sleepers and should be able to get what you are
looking for.

I believe tha CCS is no longer in business. I tried getting parts from them
(through Walthers) several years ago and they were not available even then.
Westerfield used to sell Youngstown doors separately but no parts by them are
listed in the current Walthers. At one point I went to cutting up/modifying
packages of Athearn Youngstown doors to get what I wanted. Results were nice
but a bit of work.

Cannonball Car Shops is very much in business. I know the owner personally and
he is alive and well. Currently has three versions of a WWII vintage troop car
out and has some interesting projects in the works. If you send email, please be
patient. This is a small company and one man does many jobs. He might even have
the Youngstown doors that you need. The web site listed in a post above belongs
to Merle Rice. He owns Cannonball Car Shops, Red Ball, and Hometown Structures.
If you have trouble getting hold of him, contact me and I will try to get you an
answer.
