Does anyone know of any training halls in NYC teaching Silat or
Kuntao? Thank you in advance.

I heard there is a guy teaching silat out of the Indonesian
embassy/consulate- I don't know the system or the teacher. The best
way to connect with Indonesian style is through the Filipinos. You may
find that they're pretty insistent on your having a 'BB' in something
else before studying.
We offer 'correspondence' teaching- as you progress, we correct you
work by videotape correspondence. Sooner or later you need to have
some hands on training, but it helps to have some things to work with
instead of just starting from scratch. I have several people who live
far from any instruction, and they're progressing alright- it's slow,
but it beats nothing.
Our tapes on kuntaosilat show a lot of the principles, lots of
practice drills and forms correction out of the basic 'Djuru Satu'.
Presently, we're offering a deal on three tapes; 'Heartless Monkey
Knife', 'Combat Cane' and 'Djuru Satu' for $120 (+ $5 s&h) either by
credit card or direct from me.
