Hello,

My name is Sean Hansen. I'm new to the internet, and subsequently,
to this newsgroup. I've taken Shito-ryu karate for eight years
and I want to expand my training to Aikido. I was wondering
if anyone knew of some *quality*, *no hype*, *traditional*
Aikido dojos in the Vancouver, Washington or Portland, Oregon area.

All input will be greatly appreciated!

Sean

Hey Sean,

I don't know of any dojos in Vancouver, but there are several in
Portland. I've just started at Aikikai of Two River and I highly
recommend it. I've also heard that Aikido With Ki - Oregon Ki Society is
considered to be very good.

If you'd like to hear more about Aikido or the Internet, you can email
me at either eni...@pacifer.com or jame...@teleport.com. Good luck...

If you have any questions about the Oregon Ki Society (or the Ki Society
in general), I might be able to answer them--you can email me or
post.

Please, please, don't laugh at Julian. Really, he is not a dummy,
just a foreigner.

Vancouver, British Columbia is a *LONG* way north of Vancouver,
Washington. (Although they were both named for the same fellow (a
Brit!) at a time when the Brits (!) ran the show in the area.

Vancouver *WASHINGTON* is directly across the Columbia River from
Portland, Oregon. A matter of a few miles.

But you knew that, didn't you, Julian?

[...Hee-hee -- nervous laughter...]

I, er, read it differently! I read it as (and the commas are
important!), ""Vancouver", "Washington", or "Portland, Oregon"!!

Still, like I said to Jeff... if we were still running the show,
it'd all be calledEngland anyway! :-)

> But you knew that, didn't you, Julian?

Well, since you put it that way... of course!!
