UFC 106, tonight (Sat 11/21), from Las Vegas, on PPV.

ORTIZ vs GRIFFIN (2). First meeting was close, Ortiz dominated the
first round, but then gassed, yet won a close decision. Griffin was new
to the big leagues then; he's had a lot more experience since that
fight. Ortiz has been out of competition for awhile now. Griffin is
coming off two losses, but in the first he was beating Rashad until
getting clipped. In the second, he got crushed by Anderson Silva, but
then most people do, and Griffin has no excuses:

But those were two guys that were a kind of striking threat to Griffin
that Tito isn't. This breakdown is easy: Tito's just a wrestler with
GnP. Their jiu-jitsu is probably about the same, so there shouldn't be
much of a submission threat on either side. Forrest ought to have the
striking advantage standing up. My call: Both fighters are solid
all-around MMA talents with no extraordinary abilities. Tito's at the
end of his career, Forrest is in the middle. I say Forrest takes this
one, but it should be close and hard fought.

KOSCHECK vs. ANTHONY JOHNSON. Koscheck wins the wrestling, Johnson wins
the striking. This probably comes down to Koscheck's game plan, as
Koscheck has shown tendencies to strike (sometimes successfully) with
opponents. If this is a standup war, Johnson wins it. If Koscheck can
keep the gameplan and discipline to constantly takedown and GnP, then
Koscheck wins. It's really up to how well coached Koscheck is.

AMIR SADOLLAH vs. PHIL BARONI. Amir wasn't well respected on TUF, but
overperformed his promise and won. Baroni is always entertaining to
watch, a huge muscle-bound arrogant lunkhead with power and fury but
little technique or conditioning. Baroni wins fights that he ought to
lose, and loses fights that he ought to win. Amir will probably be
physically dominated, but I say that the weathers the initial Baroni
storm, and finishes the fight after Baroni gasses (as he always does).

CANE vs. Little NOG. Nogueira easily wins on the mat. Striking
probably gives the advantage to Cane, but Rogerio is no joke there
either. Nog probably wins takedowns too. I say: striking is a draw,
but takedowns and submissions all go to Nogueira, so little Nog wins
this fight.

KARO PARISYAN vs. DUSTIN HAZELETT. Psycho case Karo dropped out two
days ago with no explanation, as usual, so Hazelett has won by default.

Other fighters: Paulo Thiago, Ben Saunders vs. Marcus Davis, Kendall
Grove, Caol Uno, George Sotiropoulos, etc.

Anyone else feel like making some predictions?
