unfortunately for people like you our Constitution forbids cruel and
unusual punishment. I'm sure if you had your way you'ld bring back
public executions for petty crimes. And it's people like you who are
the first to condemn the Muslims do doing exactly what you would do if

AFAICT the lethal injection process attempts to do just that.

Which Muslim countries have forbidden capital punishment, let alone 'cruel and unusual' punishments?

Being stoned to death for fucking someone else's spouse seems somewhat harsh, wouldn't you say?

Charlie shouldn't be in jail. He should be in the nut house. In a
parallel universe he would have a talk show with Ted Nugent and Danny
Bonadouchbag.

That said, one of my collies are named after him, so there.

It's not at all clear that lethal injection isn't cruel -- it's SUPPOSED
to be, but the body of scientific literature surrounding it is sparse,
and limited mostly to veterinary euthanasia. It's hard to find competent
doctors to administer everything, since killing "patients" is repugnant
to so many.

Alternatively, we could lock them in a brick box with a 24/7 video
camera trained upon them, feed them 1200 cal/dy of bland food, let them
walk around for 1 hour by themselves at a time of day of someone else's
choosing...we can certainly do that for less than the cost of the
mountains of automatic appeals and lawyers and time spent.

Depends: if it wuz *my* old lady youse wuz bangin', stoning you wouldn't
be NEARLY painful enough. Unless your feet could scream, you'd go that
way into the wood chipper. By inches.

If it were Hal's wife, that'd be punishment enough!

If it's done correctly, it shouldn't be painful, if that's what you mean by cruel.

Of course, quite understandable. The problem that then arises is using non-medicos to do it, and
that's where complications seem to arise.

I'm thinking that lethal injection is way better than Sharia law with its grotesque and barbaric
punishments.

Unfortunately for... well, everyone... there are people like you who

Of course, you're the same guy who has said that he'd like to see
people who disagree with him politically lined up against a wall and
shot... in all seriousness, are you trying to win some kind of
Guinness world record for being a hypocrite, or are you just too
fucking stupid to keep track of your own arguments?

Right... because everyone here is just waiting for the day when they
can fly skyscrapers into buildings, or strap bombs onto their children
and send them into crowds, or stone women to death for daring to show
their face in public, or any of the other fucked up shit that Muslims
around the world are doing, and which assholes like you defend.

But there is justification for lining people who don't agree with your
political views up against a wall and shooting them? Or putting their
heads on pikes? Or deliberately starving them to death? These are
all things that YOU have claimed you wanted to see done to people

Ah, so the reason that Muslims are killing OTHER MUSLIMS is the fault
of Westerners? When they're stoning women to death for the "crime" of
being raped, or sending their kids into mosques with bombs strapped to
them because they believe in a slightly different version of Islam,
that is the fault of Westerners?

THEY are the invader.

How the fuck you think the Alhambra got built, jackass? Muslims
occupied and invaded europe's lands until the 1800s. The Spaniards
only finally drove the criminal invaders out in 1492. They were at
the gates of Vienna even later than that.

Learn your fucking history. The MUSLIMS are the invaders and always
were! They come from a religion which preaches invasion and conquest
and slaughter and rape as a religious obligation.

> It's the Christian authoritarians that have always been the first to
> put people to the sword for fun and profit.

Absolute bullshit. Christians were pacifists put to the sword by
romans and muslims alike. Only once Christians militarized under
State Christianity was there any pushback. The Crusades were merely a
subsequent invasion against others who had ALREADY invaded. Judea was
Roman territory via INVASION after having been Persian territory and
Babylonian territory and a whole host of other imperial territory by
the same means! Invasion. It only became the "Holy Land" in the
first place via invasion by the Nation of Israel and the establishment
of temples and a capital.

This message was brought to us by someone who
supports execution by the Obamacare Gestapo, of
any american who resists paying the Obamacare
mandate... because they care about your health...
that's true compassion, they're care so much, they're
willing to kill you for your own good...

Hal's idiocy aside, people need to seriously look at this thing. You
are going to be MANDATED to buy something whether you need it or not.
And it's not just basic health coverage. In order to even qualify,
the coverage you buy will have to include options that are currently
limited to premium plans.

It has been estimated by the industry and by the CBO that insurance
premiums will INCREASE by around 95% over five years - which is MUCH,
MUCH FASTER than they're increasing now. It has been estimated by the
CBO that the public option, at least as it's spelled out in the House
bill, will cost MORE than the average private plan.

The author of the article has chosen to purchase hospitalization
coverage, and pay for routine medical care out of pocket. He will be
denied the ability to do that under ObamaCare. He will be forced to
upgrade to a full plan - at nearly double the cost - or he can pay a
fine (amounting to close to what he pays now) and NOT get that
coverage.

Or he can go to jail.

The stated goals for reform are to lower the cost curve, extend
coverage to more people, and reduce the risk of financial ruin for
people who suffer catastrophic health problems. This bill
accomplishes NONE of that.

Was reading in another group about death penalty best being administered by
taking away oxygen. You give the perp a mix of nitrogen argon to breathe and
they don't gasp for air they just get giddy until they go to sleep then die.
Alternatively you could stick them in a hyperbaric chamber and give them oxygen
toxicity which stops their heart. I didn't realise until I started diving that
pure 02 at depths under 5m is toxic. There is a few stories out there of
technical divers switching to the wrong gas mix at depth and dying.

If you are talking about oxygen deprivation as an execution method, why not
use the old classic and tie a millstone around their neck and drop them
offshre a few miles. Give you death penalty and burial at sea in one fell
swoop. The only problem I can see is the shortage of millstones that would
ensue as modern mills use steel I think.Take care

The point was to try and eliminate pain from the process... drowning
is supposedly quite painful.

You gotta be careful with so-called "sure-fire" methods too. Just like
with hanging, interia and gravity have to be taken into account: there
is the story of the carrier USS Saratoga in WW2, hit by kamikaze attack
off Iwo Jima, burying hundreds of dead by putting 5" projectiles into
the canvas bags with the bodies.

When the bags hit the water the projectiles went right through the
canvas and the bags popped back to the surface, so the ship sailed
leaving a trail of bodies floating on the ocean....

Does anyone else find this parallel discussion of Charlie Manson and
