I was wondering if anybody new anything about huang fei hung besides
the fact that he was one of the ten kwangtung tigers? I want to know
about his life and how wonderful he was.

I think that Huang Fei Hong was also an herbalist, but not sure...I
don't know if Jacky Chan's (rather than Jet Lee's) interpretation is more
correct or not.

Alan Tam's interpretation of Wong Fei Hung is absolutely incorrect, but
very funny. 8)

Huang Fei-hung was not one of the Ten Tigers of Guangdong, but his father
was. And don't be fooled by Jacky Chan or Jet Li's movies, Huang was a
fat guy, and not handsome.

He is almost famous for his healing techniques. He always talks about
respect, non fighting, honesty to his students.

Wong Fei Hung is the son of Wong Kay Ying, one of the shaolin's twelve
pillar. He was a master of the Hung Gar style, which is one of the five
branch of the shaolin temple. The reputation of Wong Fei Hung was
well-established, he was respected for his great kung fu skill and for
what he did to the weak person. His nickname was doctor justice.
Hung Gar kung fu is a straightforward, honest style with a strong
philosophy that teaches the student to use self-control and to use his
kung fu knowledge properly. It's one of the reasons that Wong Fei Hung was
so popular in the chinese martial arts world. He was a firm believer in
doing only that which is morally correct, and traditional hung gar schools
have adhered to that belief.
The oldest form in the hung gar system, "cross tiger fist" (gung gee fook
fu) was originated by Wong Fei Hung himself.
Another interesting point about his kung fu skill, is the power of his
legs. He was able to be in a horse stance , in the hung gar style i.e.
thighs parallel to the ground for three days.
In the kung fu world some martial artists had a "shadow kick", but Wong
Fei Hung had the "no-shadow kick", one of his trademark.
That is a part of what i know about Wong Fei Hung and his life. I know
these things because i practice hung gar , and because we can found my
teacher in the kung fu family tree of Wong Fei Hung.
This is my kung fu family tree: Wong Kay Ying - Wong Fei Hung - Lam sai Wing -
Chiu Kau - Toy Kim Chan - Toy Jocelyn -
and me Daniel Carrier (a french branch!)

This can be disputed, Hung Hei Goon and/or Abbot Chi Sin created Gung Gi Fook
Fu, while Fei Hung created Fu Hok Shoeng Yin Kuen. Read Lum Sai Wings books.
