I was wondering what are your opinions on Shaolin-Do. Is it a valid
good fighting system (unlike Teakwon do). People who just want to slam
every other martial art other than theirs please don't respond. I
would just like to learn a form of kung fu.

So you say this:

>good fighting system (unlike Teakwon do).

Then you say this:

>every other martial art other than theirs please don't respond.

Wanna take a stab at just what is wrong with that?

Well, obviously, nothing: first, he didn't slam "every other martial
art," he just slammed TKD; second, TKD isn't even a martial art!

I concur.
All arts must be respected. It is the only fair way.But surely no one would say
that this applies to TKD, or even Kempo or Wing Chun for that matter.

I mean, we are all for free speech, but not hate speech... NO reasonable person
can support hate speech.
Hate speech being hereby defined as something that could be construed as
sexist, racist, anti homosexual or anything else that Barbra Streisand finds
objectionable.

Why isn't it a martial art?

Because such a statement is known to elicit responses from hal.

Of course, in this case hal knew where my opinion came from so he
ignored it, but...

Of course original post being flawed, Shaolin being Chinese, no such Do
Japanese, possibly someone who watched the Learning Channel's late 2 hr
martial arts special on the 16th that doesn't seem like it's to be on
again.

As for TKD, here's a new answer for several reasons.

1st, the founder of TKD died this Summer, 2nd and more relevand, TKD is
dead it seems from it's original version.

I've trained TKD; ITF, both Tae Geuk and Palgwe series from 2 different
WTFs and a local (despite the name "National") NTF that's more a cross
between Kung Fu nd Shotokan, more than any resemblance to TKD. WTF,
infented in 1973, tried in the late 80s to take over, force or recruit
ITF, the only true TKD, schools into converting to the corrupt untrue
WTF. After the farce of the 1988 Olympics where the Korean judge gave
the Korean guy the win over a perfect hook-kick by the American guy, WTF
was everywhere, like a disease spreading accross the planet. AAU, who
should be ashamied and just kill themslevs, at least in my area, went
from Karate and even Judo that opened up USA colleges to martial arts,
to only accepting WTF and the only college intramural and course credit
sponsored allowed so-called martial art to be taught, trained or done on
college campuses by clubs & such.

I went to 2 WTF torunaments, trophies 6' and taller were being gave away
like candy, I think one was $65 to compete. I did not compete.
Participation trophies it seems, for like 8th place and under were
taller than my 1st place trophies from the 80s & 90s in open tournaments
(real tournaments). Gymnasticsy showey garbage was demonstrated to
start the WTF thing, with a guy running up, backflipping and kicking an
apple off a sword held by someone on somene-else's shoulders (must be a
lot of ppl who have to defend against that in Korea, "give us your money
of my partner on my shoulders will flick this apple at you from too high
for you to reach). I've seen the same trick demonstrated by Mui tai or
however it's spelled, alos. Mui Tai being the popular fad, out-lasting
the Tai Bo garbage. It's western boxing where they conldn't get the
rule's concepts and added kicks, modern modern modern, sport sport
sport, showey showey, but that's another topic, if they can break
themselvs away from their mirrors admiring their 1/2 naked built up
bodies with limited to no real skill.

WTF's sparring, though some have said they at least do sparring hard,
probably that "trembling shock" rule, is still sport garbage. Anything
that has rules against ANY hand technique to head and can only kick side
of head, not face nor top or head, is NOT a martial art. ITF, we hit to
head, no such rules, so anyone saying ITF isn't real or is in the any
way inferior to WTF wasn't around when ITF was ITF, may have changed if
corrupted by WTF now, not sure. Since actually, can't find ITF around
now, seems dead, only WTF left, with their 5X as high class fees as
anyone else, from $65-$120/month last I heard and testing fees that
increase the higher the rank, WTF have the money to advertize their
rears off, got to keep their schools filled to keep up that kind of
money, esp since the teachers also have to pay $1,000s for their own
tests and probably membership fees &/or sending part of the fees from
their student's back to the Korean headquarters. Humm, kinda
remoniscent of Taliban fund-raising, funneling money back to the
home-base, but anyway.

Since TKD is or leanind towards all WTF, sporty, fake, gymnasticsy,
impractical, highly expensive, history changing (left that several pages
of paragraph out), any "martial art" TKD at one time, seems now dead,
modernized, sportified, advertized, flashied up, call them greag grand
supreme masters or get out super-ego ran, adding in fake history,
denying their real history from Shotokan, altered to be not so obviously
Shotokan, Koreafied out of existance.

Thinking about it, maybe WTF did come from Tee Kwoon Do, drunken,
letcherous literally gay push you opponent out of the ring with your
feet but don't hurt your drunken budy (sumo with feet) sport that the
Koreans themselvs banned long before the Japanese occupation started in
the 1890s (9 and 8 NOT a typo, 1890 something). Then we can stop
calling WTF Would "Tee Kwon Do" Federation since it's obviously not a
TKD; World Tae Kwoon Do Federation, World drunken gay kick-pushing
Federation (Also not just useing the term "gay" derogatory but seems was
possibly beside the association with drinking, why the Korean people
themslevs banned it, debauchery, immoral and probably were trying to
wipe out or control 1800 Korean prostitution both straight and gay it
seems).

Thus now concluding any martial art that may have briefly existed in the
2nd 1/2 of the 1900s that never existed in any way, shape or form before
the Shotokan modification into it, that "was" Tae Kwon Do is dead. May
the expensive sport World Tee Kwoon Do Federation, soon follow.

Bojutsu1
3rd Dan ITF,
4th Dan WTF (till walked out of them in 1998 due to history-changeing &
blatent lies at least by the school Korean master in my area),
5th Dan NTF.
(other non-TKD ranks)
