I'd suggest finding a knife shop so that you can handle them. In my opinion
both are good knives and selecting between them will come down to personal
preference. The Emerson has a slightly thicker blade (0.14 vs 0.125), is
shorter (3.5 vs 4"), and has an S ground blade profile (lots of belly for
slicing, but not much tip for fine work). I opted for the Microtech SE
because it feels good in my hand and I find its straight clip point blade
profile more useful for day to day cutting tasks.

My business partner would bush for the Emmerson and I would push for the
Microtech. Both are excellent knives and comparible in quality and price, as
you said.
I just like the way the Microtech looks and feels more than the Emmerson.
