Any experiences on how good or bad "XT80" steel is supposed to be ?
According to the Katz web page, its supposed to be better than ATS-34,
but is still considered stainless steel. They do comment that it will
rust its not cleaned when exposed to blood. Will this steel be easily
chipped ?

I've tried, tested, owned, and used many different factory and agree
that they are getting much better, but I feel they still fall short of
custom knives. Also, contrary to popular belief, you can get custom
knives from some sources cheaply. My average selling price is $65 and
thats for freeze-treated ATS-34. One evolution I do greatly approve of
is the maker-factory collaborations. This way the maker gets to
approve the baldes before prodution.

Hey Jude(no pun intended:) did you say in a prior message that you
are from around Detriot? I'm from Clio(20 miles north of Flint) and am
friends with a few makers down there. Just curious...

I know this post is really old but still going to ask:
My grandfather is dying of cancer and he’s the one who got me into knife throwing. He came up with a design and I’m looking for a custom knife maker to make it a reality. Please let me know if this is something you still/can do do. My cell is 419-779-9319. Thank you very much
