I used to work the local gun and knife shows in the DFW area along side a
custom knifemaker by the name of Mike Fisher. Everyone called him Tank
because he was a really big guy. I have one of his bone handle, single-blade
lockbacks with lots of filework. Nice knife and a hefty user. Anyone else
out there have one of his knives?

Only thing I have left is a business card. It says Covington, Texas and his
phone number. I've done a name and reverse phone look-up on www.anywho.com
and can't verify the number. I just wondered if anyone else knew him or his
knives and what's become of him. He's a great guy. He was listed in Blade
Magazine once some time ago, too.

I met Tank while working the knife counter in a sporting goods store in my
hometown. He was a very friendly guy and was impressed with the knives we
had. I was in charge of the knife dept. so we got to talking and he told me
he was a custom knifemaker, showed me his card and asked if I'd like to see
some of his knives. I of course did so he brought a small roll in(about 50
knives) and they were very nice. The quality is apparent and his filework
was fantastic, he had a stockman I wanted so bad it hurt but he said it was
already sold.
I wonder how we can track him down? If anyone has any info. please share.
Be safe,
SPECOPS.

Thanks Terry,
I had wondered how to get hold of him for a long time. He gave me a card
when I met him but I lost it. He's a great guy and I'd like to see him get
some exposure. His prices then were not bad at all and the work was great.
He had some of the nicest multi-blade folders I've ever seen and they had
the " walk & talk".
Much abliged,
SPECOPS.
