Sounds like a 'UFO' style kite -- Into The Wind sells both the styrofoam
model, and one made in England (Cochranes of Oxford) out of wire and
holographic mylar which folds down (the styrofoam model requires glueing,
and doesn't break down for traveling)...

I personally prefer the latter style, since it folds down flat, making
transport easier...I ended up being given one of these kites by a hobby
shop which carries kites as a sideline -- unbeknownst to the rest of the
world...they were so happy someone was finally buying stock they'd had
for years, they didn't charge me for the 'UFO'...

I flew it last weekend, when we were enjoying unseasonably warm temps,
coupled with significant breezes...while rated for lower winds, I find
these things fly better in stiffer breezes...

Well, I wish I had the local concession for these things, because over
the course of the weekend (I had it out flying on both Saturday and
Sunday), I could have sold at least 30 of them (no exaggeration)...
parents would come up to me, and first ask if I sold the kite, and when I
said 'no' they'd then ask where they could buy it...

The kite definitely was a 'crowd pleaser' at the park...especially with
kids who, after their parents 'oooh'd' and 'ahhh'd' over the various
traditional kites being flown, would say 'but I like that sparkly one
that's spinning around!'...(the holographic lasar design on the mylar
really sparkles in the sun, and the thing makes an interesting hum/whoosh
sound)...

Anyone know if Cochranes has a wholesale distributor in the U.S.? I'm
not looking to get rich selling these things, but it would be nice to
have a few on hand the next time someone comes up to me at the park and
asks where to buy one (not to mention how neat it would be to see dozens
of these things being flown at the same time!)

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day:
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March.
