I am going to the Brighton / Worthing area of England (UK).
Are there any good kite shops around ? (or bad ones which should be avoided
:-) )
Many thanks and good winds
Paul
In addition to Airborn Kites in Brighton, check out Air-Head (http://www.air-head.com) who
are in Littlehampton (20 miles west). Worthing has a couple of shops selling kites BUT
they only do it as a sideline not their main trade.

Hi Paul
Airborn, as already mentioned, is good. Less good is Carousel Kites in
Worthing but quite handy for bits and pieces, and kites if, like me,
you know the staff.

TWO?????? Where's the one I've missed. I've only lived here for 13ish
years after all.

James,
where's good for flying in and around Worthing. My wife's family are
from Findon and I've always got the kites in the car. I've been down
to Goring Gap and the wind is fairly strong onshore. Great for my
flexi but not for my trick kites? Any other suggestions?

Hi Sharky
I fly nowhere else but Goring Gap - the Ferring end. You're right that
is can be a bit windy but normally not too much so. In the summer when
the wind drops (and the tourists are elsewhere!) it's near perfect,
IMO.
I live just along the A24 from your wife's family: in Offington. I
don't have a car (I cycle) so I'm a bit limited anyway as regards my
flying sites. Goring Gap seems to fit the bill well enough for me.
There is a largish green a few hundred yards from my house but the
wind there is awful. I've only flown there twice.
There used to be a web site that I used to check the wind before I set
off to GG. The anemoeter was on top of someone's house on the seafront
in West Worthing/Goring - near the sailing club. Unfortunately, the
service is no longer free.
Anyway, give GG a go. You might be pleasantly surprised. If it's too
windy you can always dig out the Flexi.
BTW, I fly flicky-dicky kites.
James
