Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you have or have experience of seattle air gear's
WindDance Foil type kite?

Paul,

I have a WindDance 2 and it is one of my favorite kites in my bag. I use 150
pound Spectra and two-inch wide straps. It flies great once the wind gets to
about 7 or 8 miles per hour. At about 12 miles per hour, it is a real hoot
and I have to be prepared as the kite passes the power region of the wind
window so that I don't plow the beach with my face!

My brother has a Flexifoil which seems mushy be comparison.

I hope that this information is useful to you. Feel free to bounce back if
you nay more questions.

Windances are great! I have a WD3 and have flown all three
models. These kites, especially the
new 2000 models, are made from high quality materials, very good
workmanship, and have
outstanding support from Dan at Seattle Air Gear
<http://www.seattleairgear.com/>. They fly
great, have a short learning curve and are pratically
indestructable. This makes them ideal kites
for kids and newcomers to the sport, but also provide lots of
fun for experienced flyers.

I fly my WD3 on 75' and 100' spectra and use the wooden "T"
handles that SAG sells. To me they
are superior to wrist loops for this kite.

The 3 really pulls when the wind gets up to 10 and above but it
will fly in 3-4 mph. When the wind
is up I put on the longer lines and sometime attach a pair of
50' tails made of 1.5" wide ripstop.
This combination makes for some spectacular air shows.

For a little less pull, more speed and quicker turns I like the
WD2, and plan to add one to my bag.
The WD1 is a kick (very fast in a good wind) but a little small
for my taste.

P.S. I am not affiliated with SAG - just a fan.

I picked up a WindDance I in a trade. Fast kite, and you can stuff it into
your jacket pocket so there is no excuse not to have a kite.
The only problem I have with it is that I can't get a decent axle. ;^)

I have a WindDance3 (99 model) and love it!! I've had it for only a
few days and so far its been great!! The only drag is the first time
tuning. Have to break in first, then tune, but after that, its a
BLAST!! Haven't had the opportunity to fly it in winds over 10 mph
yet, but tomorrows forecast says "very windy"! Will give it a shot!

Also in the process of ordering another WD3 (2000 model) for side by
side dancing!!

I have the small one and love it. Great fun. You can crash it vertically
into the ground, which I have done unintentionally many times, and it will
make a great popping sound and remains unscathed. As pointed out by others it
is pretty fast and responsive and best of all, very easy to transport. The
small one will almost fit in my pocket. I can carry with me anywhere in case
there is an opportunity to fly.

Yes, i have the windance 2. Really fun kite. Easy to get going and it just
keeps egging you own to try to get closer to the ground and faster and do
more loops. Virtually indestructable. In 14 knots it can produce some good
pull and really zips. Haven't flown in much beyond that as I usally go
kitesurfing or windsurfing when it gets windy.

I have flown the windance 3 which seems a little better in really light
winds (I have read here that 65' 80lb lines can make the windance 2 really
work in ultra light winds but haven't tried it) but I like my windance 2
better (just used to it?).
