Costco is a wholesale "warehouse" type store (membership is required)

I don't know if they have a national presense in the USA but they are at
least in the New England area. Some time ago they carried some single
line SPECTRA 6' delta ripstop kites at a VERY reasonable price ($10
complete with a spool of 50 lb line)

THEY NOW HAVE SPECTRA STUNT KITES! I don't have a membership but a friend
purchased a few. I liked what I saw so much that I gave him the $$ to get
me one too! The biggest is a SPECTRA COMPETITION EDGE and it sells for
$99.99, complete with line and straps! (that's the one I got!)

They have other SPECTRA stunt kites at lower prices (I think the SPECTRA
INFINITY is the next smallest/cheapest kite)

NOTE: There must be SOME reason that these kites are at COSTCO. For
instance the single line deltas had minor imperfections (no tail loop
despite the package saying there was one .... color pattern not quite
matching up to the package description ... and so on) I don't know why
these kites are at COSTCO. They may be overstock, or last years models,
or 'seconds' ... I don't know. But for the money it is worth investigating.

I think that one of the reasons that these kites are at Costco is
that the Comp Edge is no longer being made. Spectra Kites has
replaced it with the Reactor series (Team Uproar). Not to
mention, it is only the Danvers Costco that is conducting the
sale.

Out here the Price Club (of "Price-Costco") was carrying them. There were
there for only a week or two. Funny story-- a friend of mine bought the
Comp Edge and really liked it. So another friend bought one and when he
got to the checkstand there wasn't a SKU number on it. They sent a
bag-boy to check the price and looked on the $19.99 box for the price
code!!!

I went a couple of days later and sure enough, there were Comp Edges in
the $20 box. When I finally got the money and the nerve to attempt such
an "honest mistake" (wink-wink.. nudge-nudge) a few more days later, they
were gone!!

The Comp Edge is discontinued from what I understand. Also, the one my
friend has is a second, there was a hole in the sail. $100 is a good
price for the Comp Edge, but for $20.........!
