Great act anyway, if you happen to see them.

Do you remove just the teeth (grind or file them) or the whole chain?

I seem to recall a post by Dick Franco several years ago, in which he
said that he didn't bother removing the teeth, as he preferred a clean
cut to a tear. Either way, it's pretty nasty.

PLEASE DO NOT juggle a chainsaw with the teeth on. Chainsaw teeth are
designed to grab and pull. That is why it requires very little pressure to
cut wood. It will do the same to your skin only worse. If it hits the
inside
of your leg (common mistake with a heavy prop) it will sever your femeral
artery and you can quickly bleed to death. A bare chain (one without teeth)
will scratch, burn a little, and maybe cut a bit if struck hard enough, but
it
only takes the slightest tap from chain bearing teeth to inflict a
career-ending injury. I dont mean to sound like your mother, but juggling
an
un-gimmicked saw is just not worth it. There is a company called Juggle Art
in Australia (listed on the JIS mall directory) and they make the saw that I
use. This is a very sturdy, reliable saw that has a bare chain that spins
and
looks scary, but is quite safe (comparatively). The down side is that it is
quite heavy (and pretty big). I like that feature because I only use the
one
saw in the show and it looks quite evil. You would have to be a gorilla to
throw three of these though.
There is more than one way to gimmick a saw (remove the clutch, take off the
teeth, etc.) but the bottom line is never, NEVER, never juggle an
ungimmicked
saw.
Happy hunting guys and gals.
